I woke up this morning oblivious to last nights weather, bar a small puddle in the back garden. The sun was even shining at 8am. I rode in via Marchwood and there was huge swathes of water running off the fields. The puddles were up to the pedals.

I felt suitably badass. For double man points I was on my new single-speed.

Well, still working hard(ish) and it's pissing down again and almost pitch black,

Vindicated twice in a day. Get in.

Biblical rain tonight. Got 2 mins into the ride home and the heavens opened. The rain actually hurt so much I had to stop. After it stopped I continued my ride to find the main road outta Southampton blocked. Footage to follow. Despite getting soaked, I enjoyed the ride home, and I'm sure I got home hours and hours before everyone in their cars...

A strange ride home again! despite feeling knackered (havent had a day off from training in 2 weeks), a sore throat, a ste day at work and a resolve to just chill out on the way home, I gain 3 PRs.

Vindicated for a third time....

In seriousness, I was SO glad when I was leaving work at 6ish that I'd driven, it was (as you rightly say) biblical. Hope you got home okay.

Was that footage of the road out to Milbrook, Totton and beyond? I took the wife's car today, but I'd have been nervous in my car about the intake (Z4 on lowered springs...)

It was a bit wet this morning, but I was a bit late getting up, so I grabbed the mountain bike instead of the road bike, and headed in. It was the slowest commute yet, but not by a lot, and I wasn't hoofing it.

Quite pleasant, despite some Scotch Mist.

I always like riding in the rain, so no one can see me crying!

I still need to get round to mudguards myself!! But I think they'll ruin the lines of the bike frown
Agreed - I don't have any. Prefer a pretty bike and mud up my arse.

Just ban the idiots however they choose to get around. Much easier for the rest of us then hehe

Utterly tanking it down here, and I'm riding home in 90 mins. Is it weird I'm looking forward to it a little bit?

More so the hot shower and nice cup of tea when I get in, I guess biggrin

I was thinking something similar. I have a waterproof to go over the top, and I'm on the mountainbike, so I'm not so worried about the lack of stopping ability in the rain. I might head as far along the Thames as I can before it gets too dark or I get too cold, before heading home for fish and chips...

ah good work! although "dark" is a lot bloomin' earlier these days :s

Rain's just stopped here annoyingly - I actually prefer it when it rains. when it's just wet roads the grit comes up and cakes the bike (and me) in crap.

Evening plan executed perfectly, had a loads of fun. Since the tide was very high tonight I ended up riding through quite a lot of water over the axles. I was laughing like a loon. I had to shower in my clothes, and chuck them out the window into the garden as I took them off.

The fish nd chips were good too!

Gave old bike its swan song before new bike is brought in.

Only 12 miles, but haven't done it in a while.

Took this on my ride in this morning - a bit murky!!!

Fortunately 99% of my commute is on dedicated cycle lanes - if I was on the road in this heavy fog I doubt I'd have ridden.

I don't have any cycle lanes.

That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it smile
