Ps dropping out of the big ring for wind? What's that all about?
You think you know wind. You don't. I was born in it. shaped by it. It is within my very being. I have had cause to change down and pedal furiously to get down a hill. I have been transported 3 feet sideways by a single errant gust. I have literally been blown off (not in the good way). I was once forced to get off at an intersection and grab a lamp post with one hand and hold on to the bike with the other so it didn't blow away. I am not ashamed to say that I drop out of the big ring for wind
(today was the first time in over 2 years that I didn't cycle to work. My knee went an unusual shape last night and I thought it best not to aggravate it. Buses suck.)

Last night I was all set for biking in today after riding and running in the mountains (and actually using bottom and top gears) at the weekend....
....I then remembered that I was off work today to look after my early-rising children!
Ps. I'm now glad I didn't bike in today. After the weekend's biking, running, carrying a hefty 2 1/2 year old in a backpack up hills and fairly strenuous yoga I am now absolutely wrecked! ....I then remembered that I was off work today to look after my early-rising children!
Pathetic...
Back in the saddle tomorrow, though.

It turns out that I am actually ill, hence feeling so bad yesterday. No biking forPathetic...

Me
Rode in with my GF for the first time ever today (her first time), I get to work part way through her ride to work so she carries on to her work. We did a dry run on the weekend which went fine. She only got lost once so not too bad.
A bus driver also waved us out of a junction in front of him earlier too elimating my 'fact' that all bus drivers are utter s. It seems all but one are utter s.

Weather lovely (if not a fair bit chilly) so felt rude not to get the bike out for the commute today.
Probs only the 2nd or 3rd time I've done it so far this year. 11 miles each way. Just not really been motivated with the rubbish weather and the roads seemingly being busier than ever this last few months on my route to work.
Kids off so the roads were nice and quiet. Lovely ride in. Weather looking promising for the ride home later too.

But would he have let you out if she hadn't been there? Would he fk!A bus driver also waved us out of a junction in front of him earlier too elimating my 'fact' that all bus drivers are utter s. It seems all but one are utter s.
Lovely rides for the past couple of days, fairly quick too. Definitely feeling fitter than I did earlier in the year.
I bike to work daily (7-8 miles)
3/4 of the way there today my rear wheel failed spectacularly!!!
Went with a Big Bang followed by air and skids x 2 lol
All local bike shops are closed on a Wednesday round here, so had to bite the bullet and have my pants pulled down in Halfords!
£95 for a pair of poverty wheels...
Booked a floater and spent the afternoon swapping bits over...

What the heckedy feck caused that???? And did you need new underpants to go with those new wheels?
Surely that should not be happening to a disc-hubbed wheel? Especially on a road based commute! Worn rim-brake surfaces I can understand folding over or coming away from the rest of the rim, but a disc wheel? Warranty test time, surely?
Hold on what's happened to the weather in London? Yesterday very pleasent on commute, no gloves and even thinking of returning to my bib shorts, this morning blinking cold again. Gloves back on along with extra layers. No doubt will have to carry it all in my rucksack tonight if it warms up
This morning on CS7, I had the misfortune to briefly be riding behind a bloke in a girl's G-String, which was whale-tailing above his shorts!!
To each their own and all that, but this was not a pleasant sight!!!
What does etiquette dictate in these situations? Should I have told him that padded shorts are designed to be work without any underwear?
