I got lost on the way home last night, I think I'm through the pain now though and might be better next time I try and follow a new route with the Garmin.

Superb run home last night, PRs all the way.

Properly warm for what felt like the first time in ages too, had a good thirst on and polished off nearly 750ml in 25 minutes.

Ditches Lane over the hill through the greenery was surprisingly nice last time I was there.

I got a text to say I lost KOM by 3 seconds this morning.

I might need to take a look, as I think it's a pretty short segment.

Grrr.

No penguins to see, but it wasn't bad last night.

Battered it this morning. Week 7 of my re-born commuting and I was up out of the saddle loads, still had plenty to go at the end and dropped a few of the dozier roadies in Regents Park. I enjoyed that :-)

In the car today (got to pick up my trailer tonight as we are doing "gardening" this weekend), my strava shows me as having done 983 miles commuting this year ... Normal commute is 14/15 miles per day, I may have to do 2 extra miles on Tuesday to do 1000 in 5 months!

Nice ride in this morning, almost made a school boy error though. I was only once I was sat on my bike that I remembered I hadn't packed a change of clothes.

Fog this morning so I took proper back roads to avoid the Darwinists who don't know how their lights work. rolleyes

Noticed a Deer ahead so I slowed and went as quietly as possible but she noticed me and ran off before my camera could get a good shot.

Well after two years of daily commuting I received my first dose of road rage today! Filtering on the off side past some traffic at the only set of lights I encounter in my commute the lights turned as I got about 3 cars from the front. So I eased off, filtered into the queue and made my way to the round about which is only a few hundred yards up the road. The row of cars barely made 25mph so I didn't hold anybody up by more than a cars length...

Next thing I know, I've got some old girl in a Corsa in the lane next to me at the round about... 'OI YOU fkING PRICK I HOPE YOU GET KNOCKED OF YOUR fkING BIKE, blah blah blah...'

I don't think my response was what she expected though, being fairly placid, I just looked at her, shook my head saying 'behave yourself you silly old woman' (I don't like to swear in these situations). Not caring enough to stop for yet more well informed opinion I left her to her emotional turmoil, from what I can tell, she was in a hurry to buy some coffee beans anyway?! smile

So glad I'm not involved in the angry business of commuting by car anymore! Seems like a terrible way to travel! smile

Rubbish ride home as I'd obviously destroyed my legs on the way in. They're still rubbish today.

Still, beginning to lose a few lbs now. All part of the payback.

Set off and it was spitting with rain, half way in it was raining properly and at the end it was bouncing off the road.

Still, I had my overboots, Gore shell and Hump so wasn't that bothered.

Plus the roads were extremely quiet and there was no queue for the showers.

Had a crack at getting my segment back this morning, but it was partially into a headwind, and partially a crosswind.

Quite excited to get home and upload the ride tonight...

(Also lovely weather this morning, possibly the first time in just shorts and a jersey.)

That's part of my route to/from work as well. It's a real treat cycling across there early on a summer morning. Just about makes up for the bh of a climb up Hilltop Lane (?) to Chaldon.

Loads of headwinds/cross winds/swirly city winds last night but had a good ride back. Despite having the usual backpack with laptop etc crammed with a ton of clothes shopping. Week 8 (or is it 9?) and legs just keep getting stronger.

Made 1000 commuting miles this year - however the last ride in Warrington yesterday, for the first time, didn't record correctly on strava!

I didn't cycle in today as it's a bit wet out and I took a much longer route home last night.

I'm now a month and 118 miles into my reborn bike commute . Not much really but after a good few years out of the saddle I'm certainly noticing it!

yes Seemed like a North-Easterly. Relatively warm though.

Didn't get my KOM back yesterday so went a bit harder on the first half of it this morning. Another exciting upload tonight...
