On the bike for the first time this week. I had to keep stopping for pokestops though which didn't help my time...
Too late! I already found a Moo......and that makes this a Moo to...
Game over Pokey-bhes.
As I was cycling in Cambridge at the weekend some knob biscuit stopped in the middle of the cycle lane in front of me for no reason. I had to do an emergency stop to avoid him. I asked if he was okay. He had just found a Pokemon. twunt! Lucky I didn't grab his phone and make him eat it.
Using a mobile phone for anything whilst driving is points and a fine. Maybe it's time cyclists got the same treatment.

That was definitely an argument for Careless Cycling. As it was on a cycle lane and not a road it didn't come within the boundaries of the Road Traffic Act (if you cycle on the road you are traffic) maybe it would come under Bridleway, byway and cycle lanes but I don't think those laws have been updated since the mobile phone was invented.
Put your phone in your bag and ignore it.

Okay the cyclist assumed there would a be filter gap but he should have bloody well looked.
Mobile phone use on a bike is just as bad as in a vehicle. Let's hope the Tigra owners neck was okay eh?

I should point out that I wasn't playing whilst riding. It would be bloody difficult to as I'm playing it on a tablet rather than a phone. ...and that makes this a Moo to...

How do you guys find the time / space in tummy to eat enough?
I am pushing 4800-5500 kcal a day - and consuming around 2500. (According to my Suunto)
I simply do not seem to be able to consume any more - and now find myself at the fridge at 3 in the morning!
I have added carbs to my breakfast, post cycle to work and also a snack around 4pm before heading home.
I normally eat a burrito for lunch and a protein and veg based dinner.
On a separate topic I have a Garmin 820. I added a course home -> work and back. However, every time I use it it tells me I am off course and refuses to help!
What numskull mistake am I making? Should I search for the location instead of using a set course?
thanks

You know where you're going, I presume? No need to use a course then. Just press go and ride. What numskull mistake am I making? Should I search for the location instead of using a set course?
p.s. unless you're riding 50 miles to work you're eating far too much

Tigra driver is still an utter **** - overtaking then pulling all the way left to block the cyclist. Bet he wasn't expecting the idiot to smack into him though.Okay the cyclist assumed there would a be filter gap but he should have bloody well looked.

I just eat normally for the 80-100 miles I cycle per week. How far is your commute?! Sounds like you are eating a lot.
My cycle is 42 miles round trip each day.I am confused as to why I am eating too much? The total calories burnt is down to my 2-3 times a day gym habit on top.
I was trying to listen to my body! I have been waking up very fatigued.
I am 40 y.o, 5,8, 60kg.

...was near my bike the other day and wouldn't go in a ball. Useless game!

B-b-b-b-but, but, but the song says you gotta catch 'em all. Not just some of them. Booooooo-hoo-hoo!
Mobile phone use on a bike is becoming a bit of a thing. I see no end of Lycraists with their phones mounted on the handle bars and headphones plugged in. Just waiting for an opportunistic BMX rider to pull up next to them at the lights, nick their phone and ride off through a gap in a hedge.
A few months ago I caught one up, said "hello", shouted "HELLO" to no avail so I overtook the antisocial wench only for her to nearly fall off as I did because she couldn't hear me above the music she had blaring in her ear drums.

Nearly killed twice on the Tower Hill to Blackfriars section by muppet people walking into the cycle lane.
It really is fking dangerous for both cyclists and pedestrians.
I cycled into town today and slowed for the shared cycle lane sections. Making sure I shouted "Passing left" or "Passing right" as I approached people so they wouldn't suddenly walk into my path. A few said "Thanks" and others had no idea what was going on but they stopped and looked at least. Nobody was nearly killed but I did narrowly avoid a toad and stopped for a deer. It really is fking dangerous for both cyclists and pedestrians.
There is a limit to how fast you can ride along a shared cycle path and footway. It's part of the old Bridleway act and if I recall it's a slow trot or canter. Roughly 12mph but you need to be aware and make others aware. Same as the road there is no law making speedometers compulsory so no way of knowing how fast you are going but common sense and bit of mathematics always helps.
The average walking speed is 1.8 to 2.2mph so if you cover six times the distance of the pedestrian in the same time you'll be fine.
If you want to ride faster that's what roads are for.
drove into work today with the bike in the car and cycled home.....got a bit wet, but not soaked which was nice (well, not 25 degrees and clear blue skies nice....but you know what I mean).
The car being at work, the forecast set to be heavy rain tomorrow morning may not be quite so pleasant.
The cloud cover means it won't be cold though, about 16-17 so I suspect it'll just be shorts and a SS jersey, perhaps some arm warmers.

Soaked on the way in. High cloud and bits of blue at home, then a mile in it started and just got heavier. Hope like hell my shoes are dry for the ride home, and that the horrible stuff outside my window stops like the forecast says it will.

After setting a new PB at a local 10 mile TT last night (24:32 so still not bothering the top 10), I decided to leave the Tri-bars on my road bike this morning and see how quickly I could get to work. The answer was bloody quick, averaging over 22mph. My usual average in is around 20 mph. I probably looked a tit though At least I opted not to don my skin suit and Velotoze!

Good time that I have the Tri bars off at the moment, but find it much more comfortable to ride longer distances on the drops than I ever could. I suppose a degree of flexibility must have come from using them...
