The "Cars that will fit a bike in the boot" thread.
Discussion
If anyone is searching this thread for info, a Bikeboxalan will slot into the rear of a full fat Range Rover standing up. Drop the single rear seat and fold forward, then tilt the BBA slightly to get it in. Once in it will stand upright.
A BBA will go in easily on its side, but it requires all three seat seats to be down.

I'd expect to be able to get a pro tour team worth of bikes in a behemoth like that, would never have occured to wonder if it'd fit in a range rover A BBA will go in easily on its side, but it requires all three seat seats to be down.
I've fitted my 56 Compact Road bike in to the following:
Corsa C 3 door - Car seats down and front wheel off
Focus (2011) 5 door hatch - Car seats down - no wheels off bike
BMW E36 coupe - Car seats down - saddle and front wheel off bike
BMW E90 - Car seats down (Optional extra) and front wheel off bike (maybe saddle removed)

Before I sold it and bought an estate, the 911 was the only way to transport mine.... but only in the sunshine! I'm sure I could have got the roof up if I tried but just couldn't figure it out. Maybe saddle off and bars off. One wheel in the boot, the rest in the back...
Had a 56 road bike and a mountain bike in my 996 coupe a few times, both wheels off (and in the front boot), seat post out and rear seats folded flat.Too much of a pain in the tits though so I bought a seasucker instead

A lot of cars of that size are reverse Tardises though - Q7 springs to mind. If you want a behemoth rent a Chevy Suburban/Ford Expedition in the US. Monstrous!
E46 M3 needs the seats down to get a bike in, plus wheels off. Seatpost off also helps a lot, and with my MTB I have to also remove a pedal. The factory HK sub in the boot roof compromises the opening by more than you initially think.
My old e36 328 could get two bikes in fairly easily with wheels etc off but the e46 would be a push, particularly with the sub as mentioned above.

.
Maybe the wheel arches are more intrusive on the M3? As posted a bit higher up, I just pop the front wheel off and slide the bike through in my current E46 330ci. Rear seats down, of course. It is a 54cm frame though, and the seatpost is set for my non-gargantuan 5'8". .

I can fit either of my bikes in the boot of my E46 M3 with just the front wheel out & seatpost down/out. (58cm frame on the road bike)
I regularly used to fit any of my bikes into the boot of my E46 M3 with both wheels off and seat post in (prefer to remove the rear wheel as opposed to the seat-post). I now do the same with my E92 M3.BalhamBadger said:

Without dropping the seats?I could probably keep the back wheel on for the road bike but it would be a tight squeeze due to the sub.
