No problem fitting 22 inch frame bike with electric power conversion in the boot of my 2005 VW Bora, with the back seats folded down, no need to take it apart, (The bike that is) wheels can stay on, even with standard handlebars, racing drop handlebars would make it possible to get two bikes in ! So the Skoda Octavia that is basically the same car but has the advantage of a hatchback rather than the boot on the Bora, would have even more room.

At least two bikes will fit in a Nissan Note without removing wheels.

Merc E class estate. Fits 3 mtb's in the boot widthway (with wheels off obviously). Can fit a couple of wheels in the 'secret compartment' under the boot where the spare wheel is. can put the remaining wheels upright against the bikes, with room left for weekend bags to take you and two friends to the alps for a long weekend.

I want to know if anyone has an E90 3 series coupe and can fit their road bike in the boot (Im assuming wheels off)? It looks long enough but possibly not wide enough.
Maybe we could have a table of who fits what in where (ooh err). I used to have a coupe and can confirm my large frame ribble fitted in a treat. All the coupes have fold down seats with catches from the boot. It makes the car more practical than the saloon where, bizarrely, fold ..down seats are an option Gold, many thanks.

That's a whole lot of stuff in the 'Z! I used to drop my Daughter off for Hockey practice (she was a goalie) and then cycle around Grafham water whilst waiting, so had to squeeze her goalie kit and my bike into the 944:

The little known Volvo 240 'carrera' is ideal for trips to Megavalanche A 306 rallye will also take 2 boys and weeks kit to the Alps (at pace, but a bit warm without A/C) I have also JUST had 2 XC MTBs in a Toyota Aygo for a weekend away, 2 fit in the back of the 182 no probs and same with my old VTR years ago... All with the back seats down and wheels off of course! A friend has a MkII Mondeo hatch as a snotter, done a few trips in it and it is HUGE in the back. Ideal. You can even fit a 9foot longboard inside one of those is there is no passenger! My Kangoo van was best, 2 bikes, just roll them in then lay the surfboards over the top. Bosh. Good times

Volo 850. Record thus far is five bikes up-ended, wheels off + in car, plus five riders kit and a passenger. Ran out of bikes/kit to shove in... Slightly more impressive (to me, anyway) was the carrying of there DH bikes + wheels, spares, tools, riding kit, luggage, drive and 3 passengers, to Morzine and back at 80-90mph, returning 30mpg average and the drivers only changing to give the passengers something to do, so comfortable was it. All for £800. Phenomenal car!

My record was 3 bikes and people in an escort cosworth! (Along with kit...) was a little snug though!)

Back seats down. Bikes on their side, wheels on.

Ford Focus .mk1 estate can fit a bike in the boot with wheels on. It can go on back seat with base raised with front wheel off. Much easier to get in and out and leaves rest of boot to stock full if camping.

I could fit my 58 cm road bike in with the wheels still attached and the seats down. Still enough room for kit etc. The same was true of the E46 coupe we had before. Can't fit it in my E39 as the seats don't fold down even if I take the wheels off.

Can get one in a Volvo S60 with the front wheel off thanks to the folding rear seats.
