Porsche Boxster Spyder . . .

Frame (only) in the rear boot (just) + some kit & cranks etc ....... wheels in the front (deflated) + kitbag + pump + stand = job done & room for a passenger too.

10 mins to put it all back together = job done!

Three people, three bikes and kit into a Bora - no external racks, containers or trailers.

D2 A8 will take two road frames (wheels off) and two sets of wheels. Rear seats are fixed, but the boot is cavernous.

A large frame road bike - say 60cm and up - would probably not fit unless you took the seat post out and/or took the handlebars off.

e36 coupe will take comfortably two bikes with the wheels off and seatposts removed. Need to fold the rear seats down though! I remember someone on here saying he got three in his e36 but that would be a tight squeeze..

Two mountain bikes with wheels off in my C63.

Seats down obviously.

I've had a 20" full susser and a 58cm road bike in the passenger side of my old MR2. Wheels/seatposts off and at separate times, obviously.

4 bikes in the old Legnum no bother, rear seats down and wheels off.

Still trying to fit either of them into the Rex, but its turning out to be a real headscratcher.

TVR Chimaera - I can't think of another convertible sports car that could manage that! I can even fit the entire bike and roof in the boot at the same time smile

2x MTBs in the Corrado with the seats down. Prefer sticking them on the roof, but in summer sometimes can't be bothered getting the bars and racks out. The RR will take bout 10 bikes if I wanted to risk scuffing the acres of leather! The BMW can barely get a wheel in without scuffing the beige leather!

A road bike will fit in the boot of a V8 Vantage, pictures here.

It would fit into a V12 too as the boot is identical, making for a rather stylish arrival at a sportive. smile

BMW M6 (or any other 6 variant) I can confirm is bloody useless for a road bike.

Having taken plenty of luggage many a time and having always thought of my boot as cavernous, it's amazing how small it suddenly appears when trying to squeeze a bike in.

On my 58cm 'dale, had to take both wheels off, seat post out and then do some sort of Krypton factor style challenge to get all the pieces to fit in.

Next car will certainly be something more bike friendly.

At the other end of the scale to all this talk of Astons and 6-series, my little Cinq. used to take two mtbs ( wheels off ), plus two full size adults and all the bits and pieces required for a day on the trails when i was a yoof.

2 bikes and 2 people with bikes fully built in my rx300, 3 bikes and 3 people with oodles of space if you take a wheel off each of the bikes. Loads of room left spare in either scenario or whatever else you want to take. Probably get 4 bikes and 5 people in it if You took front and rear wheels off the bikes.

I had one of these as well as the Chimaera - never occured to me to fit my mountain bike in it! Hoping to get a Vantage Roadster but chances of getting any bike in that are none...

I must say I was very skeptical until I saw the pictures. I haven't tried it myself yet - the A4 Avant gets bike carrying duty. As you say, no chance with a roadster.

I reckon the boot of my Cerb could have taken a bike frame, it was very deep. Anyone tried ?

Years ago I went to the RAF champs with a load of guys in a minibus. My mate Matt didnt arrive for the bus, he overslept! He arrived in his TVR Chimera with his bike in the car. If you can get a hardtail in a TVR then it should fit in any car LOL.

Yeti ASR5, all cycling kit, laptop and office work gear for three days in an NB MX5 hardtop. Bit tight for driving space but perfectly acceptable for an hour or so.

Gen 8 & 9 Honda Civics can fit two bikes (front wheels removed) directly behind the front seats. The "seat" part of the rear seats folds upwards to leave a really nice gap across the car (also fits a large plasma TV).

This leaves the boot free for any additional cargo/passengers...
