Agree, much better with the extended format but, how about mentioning/looking at some bikes/accessories? I mean, it is supposed to be The Bike Show.
Caught the show last night by accident. Missed the first 20 minutes, found it while channel surfing, having forgotten about it whilst on holiday. Found it to be better in the hour format. I remember missing the first show completely due to going out for a ride, presuming that I'd see the second half when I got home, only to find that it was (disappointingly) only 30 minutes long. Anyone know how long it's scheduled to run? A show like this has been a long time coming, and with a bit of polish could turn into a really good weekly dose of TV cycling gold.No offence to her, but I'm not a big fan of Anna Glowinski as a TV presenter. My missus reckons Carol Kirkwood off of BBC Breakfast weather is into her cycling, if so she would make a great choice to front a cycling show. Graham Little can stay though, as I quite like the Nor'n Irish accent.
Ultimately, even if the production isn't top notch, and it doesn't cover all the bases and keep everyone happy, I'm of the opinion that it's far better to have a Cycling Show than to not have one. Keep it up Century/ITV4, and maybe it'll find it's way onto a more mainstream channel, thereby helping more people to discover cycling, and get into 'our' sport.

Watched about 15 mins of it yesterday evening and thought it was dull. The ride around London could have been better and the strange orange colour of the clouds was annoying. I understand it is to tone down the blown-out whites, but it's distracting.
More talk about bikes and bike parts, new products, 2013 bikes, accessories etc would get my vote too.

Just caught up with the last show in the series(will there be another one?) and, they must have been listening, as in the last segment there is a club tryout of some of the latest 2013 exotica. http://www.itv.com/itvplayer/video/?Filter=324799P-Jay said:
If someone would be so kind to post up if they feature anything non-road based I'll give it a watch. I won't hold my breath.
I nearly ground my teeth to nubs with the way that 'our' own World Downhill Champion - widely regarded by the whole mountain biking world as one of the all-time greats of the sport he still competes in - was introduced in the last series. Talk about damning with faint praise.Digga said:

Talk about damning with faint praise.I did watch last night, Rob Warner tweeted mentioning he'd be on, gringe worthy, in fairness Rob didn't seem too comfortable (crashing outside the studio probably didn't help) but the presenter didn't really GAF what he was saying, Rob really had to jam in the fact that Gee and Rachel had won Ft. Bill and virtually had to talk over him to mention they done the same in round 2.
Also - "yeah, he's all 'fast twitch' running down those hills, we're 'slow twitch' like road racers don't give a monkey's about cadence, rather than admit they didn't fancy their chances of beating Dan Atherton's time on the static bikes, which if you didn't notice (because they didn't mention is) they didn't.
/rant.
Dan is a machine! I have huge respect for him coming back to biking at all from that horrendous injury. That he's putting down jumps like the one at Llangynog quarry is, frankly, genuinely insane.
It is a shame there is such ignorance on the show. Speaking as someone who neither owns, nor intends to own a road bike of any description, I can honestly say I am fascinated and impressed by road and track racing. I think the premise of the show's coverage - that roadies don;t get or aren't into off road cycling - is wrongheaded.
As for Rob Warner, he has a gob best kept off live/national TV. Any commentator who can, mid commentary on a rider's downhill run that narrowly missed disater, conjure up the phrase "oh no! I bet his arse opened up like a golf bag!" is in a class of his own.

Considering the amount of success we’ve had in DH MTBing, I’d say the amount of coverage is derisory. And I don’t know why.
Strangely, the dirty/ off road side of cycling, motor cycling and car motorsport all receive less coverage than on road versions – yet are probably more spectacular.
