44km each way. Few hills but mainly flattish.
Yorkshire flattish rather than say Lincolnshire.

About 14 miles each way, 2-4 times a week. Car and cycle computer both have about the same average speed

3 miles each way Not worth cycling to work and back really. So i'll usually cycle to work on the days i'm doing bike training, then go for a long ride straight from work and take am assive detour home!

Three miles (and a bit) to get to work, and 31 to get home. Back then it was on a steel Falcon Pro-line in unpadded Ron Hill Tracksters or running shorts. Thankfully I now ride a MUCH lighter road bike, in padded Lycra shorts. Unfortunately I am currently not in a position where I need to commute.

25km each way, f*cking hilly (Chepstow to Brizzle), 4 times a week; roughly 45mins. Absolutely gorgeous views in some places, especially over the old bridge, that makes it absolutely worthwhile.

How do bike commuters get on on a very windy day?
I mean a very strong wind in your face and you can't be late for work.

25 miles each way, but I don't always work in the office (sometimes on customer site, sometimes from home).

I mean a very strong wind in your face and you can't be late for work. Rule 5. Plus - it is very rarely that windy and even more rarely in one specific direction. Remember that in still air you will typically face a c.15-20mph wind anyway (from your movement). And you get to enjoy it on the way home.

I mean a very strong wind in your face and you can't be late for work. It doesn't make 'that' much difference! Just leave 5 mins earlier if its a real concern... Anyway I'm lucky in that 75% of the time the wind is blowing to give me a tail in and headwind home.
