Sorry thats rubbish. Thats like saying this bike doesnt go round corners very well, but thats only a result of bad cornering.
I dont want to get hung up on the Brake Jack arguement but please dont say its the resuilt of bad braking.
Have you actually understood what you have written here?

5's are brilliant bikes.
I ran one for 3 years and used it for 3 trips to the Alps, plus 100's of trail centre miles all over the UK. Great fun to ride, easy to maintain and super reliable.
They're very versatile and tough as nails. However, if you're likely to be using it for shuttling and DH, or Alpine trips regularly, then the extra weight of an Alpine 160 or Patriot is worth the penalty.
Highly reccomended.

IT IS WHAT IT IS! smile

I've had my five for eighteen months now and it still blows me away how good it is!

As my riding skills have grown and and the trails have 'gone up a notch' my five has always delivered and always been great fun. The giggle factor is off the scale!

Do we have any new five owners on PH this year?
How are the existing owners getting on?
Do many of us still have a British Sports Car in the fleet!?!

Still enjoying mine, have no desires to change it yet, and still have a British car in the fleet to compliment it, although it has changed from a Westie to a VX220.

Noticed it's another bike that won't be available in 26" for the 2014 cycling year frown

I suppose we should all rejoice they've actually noticeably changed it wink

Sacrilege, it's the equivalent of ones Pork becoming water-cooled...

I must say the Five RS looks interesting, nice paint-work as well. A few quid mind.

I rode one of the Shed rental fives' (26") at Afan and loved it. Seriously considering one...a little pricey, but as far as I can tell it will just about do everything to a good standard.
