Glad to see they caught one of the sts and he will have to be careful in the shower for a while.

Just an observation here but I wonder if crimes like this would decrease if manufacturers didn't smother their bikes in stickers advertising their value.
You know, frame, tyres, wheels, saddle, brakes etc etc.
Was never like that when I was a lad.hippy

My 2 bikes are covered in them.
Maybe there should be a debadge option.

thats been my thought too.

thats why iv been looking at chinese carbon 29er frames for my next bike.
probably going to go for matte 3k finish so it doesnt stand out to the hawkeyed chavs.

this sort of thing.

i plan to have no logo's at all on the bike though.

Easy fix - cover the logos with tatty stickers and suchlike - it's what I've done.

If they sprayed the wheels to resemble going rusty, cheaply chromed steel ones and a split in the seat, you could be onto something.

The biggest problem with this is if you ride a stealth bike you'll get ran over if you ride a bike people can see you get jacked for it. scratchchin

There's only one solution...

Did you check the Bikeshd website ?
http://bikeshd.co.uk/
it pools free web sale adverts to one place if you spot your bike and click the pic it takes you to the original advert.

update time.

the one scrote who got caught for the attack gave a last minute guilty plea and got a rather nice 7 1/2 year sentance.

a bloody good result and a lot more than i thought he would get.

he was a proper scumbag, 28 yrs old with 23 prior convictions and 13 previous jailings but this is a lot longer than any stretch he's had so far.

im a very happy dudleybloke!!!!!!!

Good to hear. While I'm hardly a proponent of our delightful compensayshun culture, are you inline for any? Because, frankly, you should be.

Decent sentencing! Good result on that front, and glad to hear you're recovering - albeit slowly smile

Good sentance, pleasantly surprised at that. amazed he didn't give up the other two for a reduction in sentence. Still can't have everything.

Hope you get a decent pay out, that is what the system should be for!
