The bottom of Carlton bank. I'd have taken a photo at the top as well but my phone died.

OTB which ended up with a broken collarbone, a completely fked shoulder and 12 stitches to reattach my ear to my head.
All on a gentle bimble round the woods rather than shredding a double black DH trail. Will be off the bike for a while - FFS.
Proper job that! Heal fast fella.
That looks like it hurt, a lot...

Hired a bike in Salou, Spain. It was a bit of a knacker as there wasn't much air in the tyres and every bearing was creaking and had play. Still did forty miles on it which surprised the girl at the hire place when I returned it.

Good effort.

When I last hired a bike, I took it back reasonably-well serviced. Air in tyres, handlebars aligned, brake blocks aligned and the brakes tensioned, and some of the dried-out parts lightly lubed with some fresh engine oil.

It was still st but it forced me to make more of an effort to take my own bike to driveable destinations in the future.

If I'd had a pump and multi tool this would have been done too! First time hiring a bike abroad. Spanish drivers and roads were really good. Once i got into the hills there were far more bikes than cars. Next time I'd take my helmet and try and book a better bike before I left.

thumbup Cheers Mr G!

You have cheered me up no end. For the first time since my unintentional scenery interface a week ago on Sunday, I feel lucky to 'only' have a busted rib and some bruising in my shoulder. I got away with a stitch-able hole in my favourite jersey and some light abrasions on my shoulder. Very little claret for me.

Mine, too, was on an 'easy bit'. I'd done a chunk of the 'proper trails' at Swinley with another PHer and his mate, and was just ambling along some wide fire roads, exploring bits of forest I'd never been to before, when I had to dodge a big hole. Trouble is, where I put the front wheel wasn't as solid as it looked and the wheel dug in, flipping me 'high side' into the air and about 8 feet along the track on my shoulder... frown

Heal well!

Glad to have been of assistance. biggrin
It must change but at the moment i feel worse each morning. I started coughing up blood yeterday and this morning I awoke to find the swelling in my face has rendered me unable to open my mouth so I'm now ugly and starving to boot!

Thought about a training ride, decided on a forest ride with my two sons instead. Good choice!
