Yea about 940m on the short course, time was about 3hr 13mins, apart from a slight off road detour it was a good wet, windy, misty cold day. At least I didn't have to walk up any hills.

Well I was having a lovely ride out with my mate but one of the nipples on the rear wheel decided it didn't want to be part of the wheel any more and snapped with a fairly disconcerting twang whilst doing about 25mpg down a slight hill.

My mate at the LBS built them for me last year and as he was out with me when it happened he was quite keen for me to bring it back in for a rebuild!
The same thing happened to me but the spoke snapped at the hub end. it made for a wobbly rear wheel and limped up an average 7.5% mile long hill. Not fun!!

They've altered the dorma windows on the house, but the view/direction is pretty much there.

Is that Arrow Cycles kit? You must live in my neck of the woods, Lincoln. Do you ride with any of the local clubs?

I'm Horncastle, but ride for Arrows, train on my own, but race plenty cross, mtb xc and a bit of road.

My first contribution to this thread. Some nice photos here smile

I've been meaning to take a photo of my bike next to this sign for years. This is a few miles from my house. I was on my way back from a trip into into town.

Been a great little bike. Had it for just over a year and it's the "go to" beater for most general faffing about, especially in bad weather (no rear bearings for the Cannock Chase grit to kill) and it was only £750 new and even the boggo, budget fork is pretty handy, although I've had to re-fill it with oil. Bit heavy and you can't put what I'd call a decent sized (2.3 High Roller II) rear tyre into the frame, but other than that it's fantastic.

Hit a rock on a night time downhill descent and got thrown over the bars down a 3 foot drop onto stone. Landed on my hands and knees, it hurt a lot and I cant ride for a while. Getting too old for this crap.

It is a place called Chicksands Bike Park which is in Bedford. Really cool place with just about every type of feature and trail you can think of. Sadly they had to remove the North Shore section due to some idiot crashing and blaming everyone else but himself. £5 a day to ride there but it is a top notch place. Just be aware of the local kids who like to pinch bags that are left unattended.
