It's in the kitchen, sulking. I originally bought a 20" frame. I'm 6' & it's on the borderline of being too big. An 18" popped up on Ebay cheap, so I bought it & swapped the bike over to see if it suits better. First ride today & so far I'm undecided, I need to stick a few miles on it to work out which one works best for me.

I've driven it but really need to go back and try it on the bike. Awesome, awesome bit of road.If you need a day off the bike I can also recommend the Torrent de Pareis, a very cool one-way canyoning route that ends at the bottom of the Sa Calobra. Great fun.

Oh I thought you'd broke it Not quite today, but one from yesterday after trying out a new route whilst trying to sweat out a sickness bug. I'd love to say it did the trick but after failing to convince myself not to chase a bloke up the first small climb of the day I nearly passed out. That decided a slow pace for the rest of the ride.

Photo's from this weekends Snowdon ride.
My preparations for a 4am start and 3000ft climb with a bike and a load of kit was to have food poisoning, eat absolutely nothing at all for two days and then have 1.5 hours sleep before getting up at 4am. This is far from ideal and I had shaky Elvis legs by halfway up - but I've wanted to do this for ages so nothing bar a broken bone was going to stop me from getting to the top.
No photo's from the top as visibility was about 8 foot and no pics from the way down as I was having too much damn fun to stop and take snaps
The descent was mental - one of the most hilarious/frightening/exhilarating things I have ever done.

It seems a massive engineering feat to build a road down to essentially a couple of restaurants and cafes. I wonder if they had/have bigger plans for a resort there? If you need a day off the bike I can also recommend the Torrent de Pareis, a very cool one-way canyoning route that ends at the bottom of the Sa Calobra. The road was incredible. Very little traffic and the weather was mid-20s. I tried smashing it to the top but the previous 2 climbs didn't help. Managed about 40 minutes from bottom to top.
