I had a day off today, so managed to get out in the woods for a bit:

Slightly annoyed that Strava's auto-pause didn't notice I'd started riding again after taking this picture, so missed out two thirds of my ride.
The more I look at your Vitus the more I like it. Colour scheme is spot on, looks lovely!A quick ride around the local woods by Lewis Craik, on Flickr

Did you manage to get to the top in "The Great Glass Elevator"???
The great glass elevator is gone now. It kept breaking down, and where as I personally would have thought of the absail rescue as fun, most folk didn't .yellowjack said:
I don't think it EVER worked, did it? (Hence the ) They famously had to rescue the VIP party at the opening ceremony, or so i heard. I didn't know it had been removed though. Embarrassing farce for the city, I think, and something they'd rather forget.
Probably why the construction team were asked not to discuss the project after they left, apparently. You bought a new road bike yet YJ?

No, not yet.I've been sticking to riding off road since the accident. I've got an appointment next week with a psychologist, as part of the claim against the driver. It's more to do with assessing the effects of the accident than treatment, but I'll see what she says. I thought I was OK, but to be honest, I could have recommissioned an old tourer ages ago, but I've been hiding from it, sticking to trails I can get to without hitting too many road miles. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a quivering wreck, or suffering flashbacks, but I'm not entirely comfortable around traffic either.
Hopefully I'll get back on a road bike of some kind soon though. But a proper replacement for the 'best' bike will now have to wait until the new year I think.
What was that on Strava about losing your Mojo? Nothing serious, is it? I've had a cold for the last 10 days or so, and it took a bit of effort to drag my backside out to the garage to sort my new chain and some work on the forks yesterday. Then today I managed to squeeze in nearly an hour after a shopping trip to Basingstoke and an hour to let my lunch settle. Then I went off to Hawley and Minley to string some "easy bits" together into a loop of sorts...
Spooky mist rising off the heathland.
I like this picture, with the mist and the clouds all in the 'right' place. Weather!
It looked quite gloomy, but I really enjoyed being out in it this evening.
Going down? I couldn't see the bottom of the hill, it was so thick in places. Plenty of mist, but sadly no Gorillas
I think this is for the 'Merida Brass Monkey' event next Sunday. Still undecided as to whether I enter or not. The tail end of this cold means I'll be even less competitive than I would be without it. But as has been pointed out on Strava...

You should go for the race, someone has to come last!!!
I think I need a new coach Cold before Boxhill Sportive at the beginning of October, which then lingered ever since. I did a 100km run with FCCC a week or two later, then another 115km to Boxhill and back a fortnight ago. I have now had a sore throat and "cold" since then, couple with a bit of lower back pain.
I know I should stick off the bike, however I have the MIL down this weekend so may venture out for a relaxed 2-3 HR ride tomorrow. I need to sway some tyres from a shagged winter wheel back to the other wheels first thing then get out and see how the body hold up, rule 5 should probably be invoked!
In terms of getting back on the "road" why don't you target some of the quieter country lanes as part of a group.

Pictures from todaysyesterdays ride:
A fun little pedal up and over Snowdon. Up the normal Llanberis Path, then a bit of a tech fest back down the Ryhd Ddu path, along to the Rangers station, and back up and over to Llanberis via Telegraph valley. The weather, was, for once incredible ;-)
Great day out on the bikes ;-)

The road section to get to this bit was worth the ride by Lewis Craik, on Flickr
I ventured out into the countryside today which meant quite a bit of road riding, but the first part of this bridleway was worth it, the last bits were a bit boggy though.
Up at Carron Valley trails yesterday, and as the Scottish Land Rover club were in the same area driving around the fire roads I decided to head off and do some exploring, ended up on the nearby windfarm planning some future routes.
On the drive up, fog lying between the hills:
A view looking back across to Carron valley & Meikle Bin from the climb up:
View from the summit - I have no idea of who Basil Brazo is, Google provides cupcake recipies in german:
Same spot looking over towards the Stirling side:
