Late Monday afternoon I headed up to Caesar's Camp between Fleet and Farnham.

On the way there, I took this snap of Farnborough Airport...

From Sunday's race, was feeling ok after a virus last week. Hoped it had cleared but after half a lap I soon found it hadn't.. finished but really wasn't a good race for me.

That is a fabulous picture across the bay to Mumbles. thumbup I haven't been 'home' in such a long time. I really must take a bike next time I visit, and re-ride all my old routes. I particularly used to enjoy my lap of The Gower, from Gorseinon out via Dunvant and the Clyne Valley path, back in via Pen-Clawdd. That, and return trips to Pembrey for the beach, and random trips up into the hills the other side of The 'Bont, out to Ammanford. I really miss riding that area, and the Raleigh Record Sprint I did my riding on back then. Sadly, when I joined the Army my bike was handed down to two of my brothers in turn, neither of whom looked after it particularly well... frown

Cheers, sounds like my loop of the Gower is yours in reverse smile (although I do sometimes do it as a figure of eight if I'm feeling good so I can do Cefn Bryn twice)

Chilly start in the Yorkshire Wolds but well worth the effort.

Where did you get your mudguards from? Even on a dry(ish) day I'm getting an immediate wet bum!
Road racer 2s
Brilliant mudguards - not the strongest, but then they are designed to fit where others won't. I've got through a few sets but through trial and error, the latest set have lasted all year.

A few pictures from yesterday's ride up to Caesar's Camp...

Unusually constructed 'Pillbox' in the woods. There were two of these hiding a short way from the main tracks.

The little pond/lake at the top of Caesar's Camp.

Everything looks so small from up here. The view down from the edge of the steep side of Caesar's Camp.

The "Leap of Faith". 40+ mph down this ever steepening gravel hill, followed by a massive handful of brakes for the cattle grid at the bottom which is immediately followed by a 90° right turn. I didn't have the time (nor, if I'm honest, the inclination) to tackle this particular beast going up wink

A trip out to Windmill Hill/Porridge Pots near Deepcut for me today...

A view out from the top of one of the hills.

And a herd of native Roe Deer on the other side of the fence, inside the Pirbright Ranges complex. About a dozen individuals in total, they'd been out in the open on the range perimeter road until I rolled up and disturbed them, then they slowly ambled off into the woods. Grainy, because it's an old compact digital camera, struggling at full zoom. Sorry.

Yeah take your bike, you'll love it. We were in Bendalmedena, locally we had the sram and shimano test tracks, which are brilliant and to be honest i could've rode exclusively. Having a van uplift and a massive bike were fun, but you could happily ride the tracks on a trail bike and the climb back up isnt bad at all. Theres also mijas bike park just up the road, thats always been closed when we've been mind...

Nice, I regularly go up on a Sunday morning and to be honest outside the height of summer I rarely see that many people.

Went up last Wednesday and didn't see a single sole from Cardingmill, up the top to Pole Bank and back down Minton until I got to the Ragleth. smile

Did have to get off and walk though at one point as the wind was so strong, blew me off the bike.
