Malawi yesterday morning. 17km route, was hard going as the recent weather as washed away many roads and made some of the tracks pretty treacherous. And it was 30+ degrees.

I don't usually ride with a proper camera but some of the scenery is amazing and some can't be accessed on four wheels, even in a 4x4.

Considering how gloopy and hard work it was today. Was all going to plan until launched into a never ending bog, which somehow grabbed my front wheel solid, them unceremoniously launched me over the top to then deposit me into itself a few feet further on than the bike. Cue hysterical laughter from your 'so called' mates LOL. Also, I was banned from the house and had to strip in the drive !! It wasn't just the covering of slimy clay that was the issue, but the smell of stagnated whiff that I then emanated. The last 4 miles was spent with no grippage of the bars , but a good day had by all.

Note new helmet unscathed, although I do recommend wearing one, as you never know what you could meet on a ride ;-)

Excuse the small photo Tinypics is crap and need to find somewhere else to host photos

No photos from me this time, but in true PH style I did find an rc car racetrack with a race in progress. Oh and a field full of Alpacas, followed by a 10% down slope covered in mud thanks to the local farm! That was a brown tight moment when I felt the back wheel kick at 25mph.

On the I did get my first metric 1/2 under my belt today smile

They could really do with sorting some drainage there. I gets flooded very easily and puts Odiham bound traffic/bikes on the wrong side on a blind bend.

Infact... just reported it.

Quick video clip from me. At the end of my ride this clown passes by close with a complete disregard for the limit and cyclist safety. The way he cuts past the cyclist in front is even worse. It's a 30 limit, my GPS data said I was doing 21 at the time, I'd guess he was doing close to 45?

I did stick my fingers up at him, probably not the best thing to do but I was annoyed and it just seemed to happen. When he stopped I did too and just said more space mate, he was already unloading a torrent of abuse, culminating in, you need to be careful as you're the one that will get hurt! err.. thanks.

( Unfortunately the GoPro in a sealed box didn't pick up the audio very well. )
