Just been out for a post work ride, right up on the top of Isle of Skye overlooking Digly Res. and Holmfirth. the blast down to Holmfirth was really good fun!

Right, I'm gonna look stupid here but......I thought Skye was in Scotland and Holmfirth in Yorkshire?

You are correct, it's local name for it. Some more info here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/A635_road

And yes Holmfirth, Yorkshire, summer wine country!

Just had a nice run out to Cannon Hall, furthest I've ever ridden at 39 miles well up on my previous PB of 22 miles. The head winds on the way back were horrible! But the toffee cake was goooood!

Went on a 80km ride up some hills in Kent with some friends, one was on a fixy but still was quicker up the hills than another on gears, took this photo of an ex military base at the top of a hill whilst waiting.

Last ride of my bike before I get a new one, it's nearly a decade old now and have little faith in the rear chainstays as they are carbon and looking a bit sorry for themselves (chain snapping hit it hard). Definitely going use helicopter tape on my new bike to prevent it happening again.

I think so, it looked derelict with white tents in a state of disrepair being blown about the grounds by the wind but the grass was trimmed so not sure.

Went for a blast over Honister after work this evening, bloody wind was a pain in the arse but at least it stayed dry. Got the Mrs to pick me up on the way back so I could be home in time to get something to eat before Game of Thrones*, 33 miles & 2500+ ft of ascent is decent enough for a Monday evening I reckon. Also, it doesn't really show on the photos, but the tops are still a bit white with snow smile

  • she's now sat talking to her folks on the phone and I'm not allowed to start watching without her - should have stayed out longer!

I haven't been out since Saturday as I've been away. It horrible! Saturday was lovely though. Found this after exploring some farm tracks and pretty villages. Was a good morning, followed by a Fry Up.
