I'm a fair weather only rider. So when I saw dry Tarmac I was straight out. Regretted this decision after I'd committed to a particularly muddy road with little alternative apart from turning back. Maybe I should invest in mudguards ha.
In the 1650's you'd have been underwater there... So, 45km around tis bit of Norway, and it was fecking freezing. All of the cycle paths have been re-surfaced with a cheap black tarmac that seems to be a seeding ground for black ice. I was out of the house 200m, turned round and swapped onto the studdud tyres. Reckon that 40%+ of the distance was ice/black ice so corners were treated with care, but never an 'Oh st' moment!
The Three Swords, original name, eh?
Hafrsfjord
KLM overhead.
Dunno, where's Eric?
Again, where's Eric?
Trusty Whyte 901, with most of the shyte SRAM stuff long gone!
Sunset over another random island
All of the shiny stuff here looks like water, but it's all ice!
Freezing mist...
Brieavatnet - pond in middle of town
Little boat in centre of town selling Christmas trees
Bars, scene of much mental most nights...
Merry Christmas
What happens on a downhill, on black ice and you mash the back brakes:

Built as F Mk4 in Blackpool, contract batch commenced August 1953, delivered to RAF Lyneham (33 Maintenance Unit) in 1956. Served with RAF 118 & 130 Squadrons. Transferred to Royal Navy (FAA) at Arbroath (HMS Condor, RNAS) as ground instructional airframe. Bought back by Hawker Siddeley in 1970 and converted to F Mk58A standard. Delivered (by road) to Emmen, and re-assembled for Swiss Air Force service in 1972, served with 20 Sqn, Swiss Air Force. Out of service date: 25 Nov 1994. June '95 ferried (flown) to Flyhistorik Museum, Stavangar/Sola, Norway. 2005 - based at RAF Scampton, owned by Hawker Hunter Aviation (UK civil registration G-HHAG). 2007 - non-airworthy, stored awaiting restoration to airworthy condition, by 2012 it was airworthy with HHA. Last info was for 2013, when it was showing as owned by HHA still, but stored at Sola, Norway.

T'other one looks like a SAAB RF-35 Draken in Danish markings. Photo of one at a UK air display in the early 1990s for comparison...

and one of AR-114 (the one in your picture) on exercise in Germany back in 1980...

The RF-35XD was an export version of the Swedish designed fighter aircraft, with redesigned outer wings and electronics. It looks like only the Danes had an RF (reconnaissance) version like this.

So after 500 yards I got a puncture in a brand new tyre. So in a strop I went home and dug out the MTB instead!

Took 3/4 of the kids out for a spin to check out the flood water in the New Forest
Decided not to take them through this
Hmm, can we?
Yes we can, good skills by the little ones as it was a good 6" deep in places
Fun splashing in the nearby flooded road
He doesn't feel the cold!
