63 miles looping across the border into Chester then south to the Sandstone Trail, then west towards Wrexham before heading up and back into Wales.

Lovely day for a ride out, although the wind was a little chilly at times.

Preparation for the Mad March Hare next weekend is complete.....

First visit to Hamsterley Forest this afternoon. Was really busy when we arrived and damn cold. Soon warmed up and had a blast.

I might need to loose a few pounds though.

Not a serious bike like a lot of them on here but was reading an article the other day on BBC about Communist Nostalgia in Romania (my long term partner is Romanian) and they were going on about a bike company started in the Communist era called Pegas which had been brought back to life. Was checking them out and discovered one locally to me in the UK so decided to buy it for the fun of it. Picked it up this morning and took it for a quick spin to pump tyres up fully at local BP Station.

As you can imagine I got quite a few funny looks.

Did the full Swinley red/blue today on the DH bike, no pushing required which surprised me.

Figure if I can do 20km undulating trails on it then I won't have a problem sprinting it for 2 mins down hill when racing :-)

My wife is Romanian, showed her this and she remembers them fondly. Her second bike was a Pegas, she says it was the most communist bike you could have rofl but it was cool! She's sure hers was similar to the one you've picked up.

Might have to have a look for one biggrin

I reckon I have possibly got the only one in the UK haha don't think there was much call for them over here!

It's pretty cool to ride as its so laid back.

The people who designed the Olympic velodrome conveniently left a toddler size viewing gap between the seats and rail!

Getting my "Enduro Elbows" out at Bike Park Wales yesterday, tucked and scrubbing low, carrying speed:

Popping up for a bit of airtime:

It was a bit of a wild day on my new bike, with precisely zero miles on it, and completely non optimum suspension setup as a result eek

Mad March Hare Sportive, freezing conditions, 73.5 miles in 5:45 with 3500ft of climbing.

I missed the signs for the food stop, so had my flapjack in Welford on Avon

Lovely day for it, few laps of Richmond Park.

First ride with the Q Rings, plus new shoes, cleats, pedals & saddle height! Lots to take in and a few things that need adjusting but was mainly just nice to be on the bike.

Muddy in Park Wood by Lewis Craik, on Flickr

I took the long way home from work yesterday, forgetting that we'd had a lot of rain/flooding earlier in the week. It was particularly muddy in the woods.
