Top Job chap! That's a decent finish ;-)
Cheers, I held back quite a bit as was riding on the logic crashing is slower than just holding back going slow so on the bit of the track I had trouble with in practise I basically went to walking pace and then opened the taps back up once clear it, probably a 5-10 second loss immediately but it would have been disheartening to get a DNF so I think overall the right choice of tactic. People were crashing left right and centre, mate who came to watch said he witnessed at least 20 crashes during racing and he only stood on two different parts of the course so have been a vast number of offs through the day.Benmac said:
First ride on my new (to me) Anthem. Lovely thing, very different to my retro full suspension bikes. Being a roadie these days I'd forgotten how hard pedalling mtbs is!
That's Manchester in the background.
I'm loving my new Anthem too! That's Manchester in the background.
Brilliant bike, 530 mostly off-road miles on it so far, in a smidgin under 7 weeks. My only issue is a slightly spongy rear brake which may be my fault from letting one of the pistons out too far when trying to free one of them up. I've not got a Shimano bleed kit though, so I may well let the shop sort it when it goes in for it's "free first service" (safety check to you and me ) next week.

Nice pics - I did Snowdon a couple of weeks ago.It looks pretty busy on there. We were back in the carpark by 8:45am and we only encountered 6 walkers on the whole descent.
It's a whole lot better when you can blast down without having to dodge the hikers. Either start your descent beore 8am - or with the last hour of daylight.

The forecast for the early morning was bad, plus we didn't arrive in Wales til 11pm the night before.
How long did it take you to get up there btw? I presume you're fit whereas I very much aren't - first ride for a year!
