Completed my first tour over three mountain passes in Switzerland on Saturday: Grimsel (2165m), Furka (2429m) and Susten (2224m). The latter left me half dead hehe. 120k, and 3500m in total. I'm chuffed bounce
Highlights were the overtake of a dutch camper van with oncoming traffic downhill to Gletsch (don't ask!) and the 25km final descent to Innertkirchen, which was absolutely awesome.

View from Totensee on top of Grimsel:

View of Grimsel east side and the Bernese alps from Furkapass (of Goldfinger fame):

A photo from Saturday's BWC Final.....a Tweed stampede, I'm the extra medium chap on the left. Harry, on the right of the picture, besides being terribly posh & a jolly nice chap, was riding one of the Bloodhound teams Bromptons, kindly donated by Will Butler Adams at Brompton.

Unusually the family came to a race on Sunday, rather worryingly they took position on a down hill section with a jump just before a corner and shouted "get some air Daddy" everytime I passed. I had no choice but to be a little less cautious than usual, thankfully I just about stayed on 2 wheels.

I'm not sure what that means smile

We just entered the tourist day on Sunday morning. Good way to kill some time and learn a new respect for the gradients of the track before it opened up to cars again.

So we went to the Nurburgring to do RadAmRing and a great time was had by all, we even got a kit made up special.

That's the first bunch past our pitch, they are coming down the GP track before joining the nordschieffe, you camp all round the GP track which is quite cool.

Then it got dark

But only for a short while, we counted them out and we counted them in, no one was eaten by the bears that roam the forest.

Easily the best weekend of biking ever, very few people will lap the ring at night but we did and a few got close to 100kph too... We had two teams of four and two soloists, some support crew and between us rode something close to 2000kms over 24 hours. Schnitzels were consumed, beer was drunk, sweary words were deployed up Hohe Acht and Anglo-German relationships post Brexit have been restored...

There's a MTB route that runs at the same time. It does a little bit of the circuit where all the camping pitches are (our Neighbours were MTBers) then when the roadies head off onto the Nordschleife the MTB turn right into the woods and a 9km off road track coming out again just before the GP circuit starts.

All of us there this year are already talking about next year with even more teams of others interested. Get together a PH MTB team and the more the merrier.
