Various snaps from the last few days...

This chap was one half of a couple, and they were practicing caving techniques off the army's demolition training bridge, Minley.

Only just avoided squashing this little chap on the way home. 'Silver940' will know the track ("Spooky House Dash").

Not sure, but I think this is a Shaggy Ink Cap mushroom. Certainly not a Death Cap as my wife (un)helpfully suggested

A moment of rest and recovery at 'The Bear Pit' in Hawley Woods.

A ropey picture, really, but the view out toward Fleet from Minley Woods. This little MOD training area is chock-full of single-track sections which are little gems. A number of recent races have left their mark, and re-riding these laps has become something of an obsession for me of late...

Thanks for the I.D. on that.

No intention of consuming it at all. Nor any of the other mushrooms in the woods. There are signs up everywhere forbidding the picking of fungi. Put up by the landowner (MOD) as I think it's a SSSI.

I have new tyres but waiting on the new wheels to go with them. Had an email from Hunt today saying the wheels are delayed

Awesome collection! Oh how I lusted after the Zazkar in our bike shop's window back in the early 90's.

Is that Haldon Forest trail center by the way? I'm down that way next week and thought I might get a ride in. I've not been before but the youtube clips look promising.

Thanks. The Zaskar is my 15 year old son's. Not quite sure he knows what he's got.

Haldon is pretty good, good variety of trails & levels, good parking a facilities & easy to get to.

27 miles down the Grand Union today. Uxbridge to Brentford.

Not done it in a while. Was a lovely ride.

Huge group of about 30 riders streaking through!

Magical commute over the Downs this morning.
On top of the first climb, above Beeding. Looking west, that's Annington Hill pushing through the clouds.

Just a fraction of the pigs on Annington Hill, all curled up together for warmth.

Looking back towards Beeding and the old cement works

The clouds had rolled back in, and I got a bit disorientated. The wind had got up, I was knackered and slowing, couldn't understand why, I thought I was on the flat. Then the clouds parted a little and I realised I had been on the last part of the climb to Chanctonbury

80km after work took me to Tintern Abbey. The A466 was closed but I ignored it on the way there and didn't see anyone on my way down the hill. There were a big group of road workers watching me as I climbed back up it looking like a tt. biggrin They didn't say anything though!

I've wanted a pair of lace up Giro shoes for a while. Are they as nice a fit as I imagine they are?

As bright as the laces are, I barely saw them past your epic beard! Great work!
