Icy this morning. Too icy as it turned out... black ice on a corner got me. Low speed though so not a bad one but it put paid to my planned route. I'm still 100km short of my goal for the year.

Bloody hell!! You OK apart from the obvious?

Not regretting my decision this morning to abandon my planned ride and go for a run instead at all at this point!

Zwift I am afraid for me today. Broken arm rules apply. If it is frosty I don't go out, having come off on black ice 50m from home and broke my radius two years ago. Lesson learned.

Photos from yesterday's epic (Garmin) fail to Goodwood will have to wait.

In the meantime, here's a few from this afternoon/evening's ride up to Henley (ish) and back via Windsor...

Outside a tyre fitting place in Wokingham/Winnersh (I think). Can't be a lot of these left on the roads.

Patchy fog, they said! This 'patch' was about 18ft deep, and on the bike I could just about see over the top of it. It was spilling out of the back of the £140million Park Place estate, Remenham Hill, Henley-on-Thames.

White Waltham airfield just after sunset. The fog on the aerodrome meant it looked quite 'moody' as I rode past the gate, so much so that I felt compelled to turn around and try to capture the scene in a photo. Suffice to say it looked a whole lot better in real life...

Foggy up at Chedworth.

Bought some sunglasses to keep the cold air/fog/dirt out of my eyes.

You're local-ish to me - do you ride with Performance Cycles?

First contribution to this thread.

This is from Thursday at Swinley. The bike didn't finish the ride that clean smile

Edit - No idea why it's twisted 90 degrees...

Went out for a ride this afternoon. Wanted to do a few more miles than I did as I got a flat.

There could of been worse places I suppose.

first ride out on my single speed built over Christmas, really enjoyed it, only had an hour so did a quick 15 mile loop. Definitely testing on the legs! my thumb kept looking for the shifter!

Winter roads make punctures more miserable! As does the first replacement tube with a dodgy patch, I then pinched the second tube with the tyre lever. And once past that, we COULD not get the tyre back on. I'd only taken the drive-side off, and with 3 of us trying, it wasn't having it. Slippy as fook though. Took both sides off, got the drive-side on first, and then the non-drive side eventually popped on

Rocking my PH jersey at round 2 of the Brass Monkeys winter XC series yesterday. First time a course photographer has taken a picture of me looking relatively dramatic. Sadly looks can be deceiving, and my times were typically slow compared to the sponsored riders. Its all fun though (apparently)

Last night's effort:

Fortunately, when we got to the pub, there was some spare snap left over from the darts match.

A freezing cold, snowy, muddy 30km loop between Eyam and Bakewell. It's actually a lovely bit of track, 800m of ascent, some fun downhills, a good mix of surfaces.

Beautiful sunrise which I would have missed if I hadn't glanced down at the chainrings and saw pink reflected in the frame!
