Ah yes, one other thing. Does anyone know what the odd metal liquid pouch thing with a metal loop on it that came in the goods bag is actually for?

I remember following you for a good while at some point on the ride. Either that or more people had those jerseys.
I think there was one other rider in our kit but he was riding solo so if there were two jerseys together then it was us!

vvill, has this been updated to reflect all 17,247 riders do you know? I can't check as my works firewall won't allow me access. There is also a list on BikeRadar http://www.bikeradar.com/road/news/article/prudent... and another one here: http://cigari.co.uk/2013/08/05/prudential-ridelond...

So which is accurate and fully up to date?

Did everyone see on the pictures link that there are video clips as well smile

They have you at various points, including rolling over the finish line. Pretty cool I thought.

Who says women are slow, second overall!

I'd guess she went down the West Horsley to Givons Grove Roundabout diversion early for some reason but can't imagine why confused
[stalker] Ms Cowley turned left at Byfleet and not right missing out something like 60 kms of the route so I assume suffered from an injury or mechanical given the average speed of the rst of the ride is the high twenties.... http://www.strava.com/activities/72332140 [/stalker]

That's quite a shortcut!

I know the event wasn't supposed to be a race, but I've just seen the slowest time; 10:05:56

Did anyone actually get 'swept' up for being too slow? I'm sure they stated this would be the case, I'm no pro but an average of 10mph is pretty slow (IMHO).

First resort were a series of diversions - if you didn't make certain points by the cut off then you were sent down a shorter route to catch back up. I'm sure there will have been a few who got caught though (either through mechanical, injury or bad luck)

Was getting excited for a second seeing this back at the top.

Last year was a real experience, a definite "must do" event, but starting in one of the last waves left me with constant traffic to overtake.
With a little luck I'll get in again and get an earlier wave start smile

Ride london mail blub

"If you entered the ballot for a place in the 2015 Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100, we’ll be in touch in early February to let you know whether you were successful or not. Look out for a magazine in the post from the first week in February…"

Really? Last year was "an experience" but not something I would choose to repeat :-)

:-) I think I was wetter on last years RideLondon than I've ever been on a Scuba dive...

I stopped in Pyrford after the heavy rain and between my shoes, pockets and inside my eyeballs must have emptied a whole litre or dirty rainwater out of myself!

Afterwards my bike needed a complete rebuild- water was even inside my rear wheel bearings and the frame!

But I will admit to enjoying the last 20miles back to London in the sunshine passing all those who'd gone out to hard in the Rain storm and the chaos in the Mall was incredible... Was less impressed with the thunder and lightning while riding home afterwards :-)

FWIW I put my name down again too.

I also got that email, with a swollen knee it will be ironic if I get offered a place (I can always defer it to next year if I cannot ride) Although if I need an arthroscopy hopefully it will be sooner rather than later.

Last years event was good fun, but it wasn't that wet. Try sailing across the north Atlantic in January wearing the same oilskins for 2 weeks!

I also had to get the wheel hubs and BB sorted out a few weeks afterwards.

At least with a ballot space I get to ride in PH livery as opposed to a charity top.

Well, I did it the first year in glorious sunshine so I have no experience or memory of your 2014 debacle wink
