Fleet 17:44 lesser spotted Elmo seen, Classic Yellow/Black top astride a orange bike..............taking it steady, our own YJ I expect!
Sounds about right!Although the bike is red, your 'orange' comment has convinced me to man up and fit the spare set of Schwalbe Ultremo tyres I have with orange stripes. As for taking it steady? Absobloominlutely! I was knackered by the time I hit Fleet. And my equilibrium had been unsettled by a phone call from the wife which I took near the canal on Crookham Road. "Lucky With The Lights" just isn't worth bothering with at that time of day anyway, so I'd reined it in after that.
Whereabouts did you spot me? I do hope I wasn't seen making an arse of myself!
Was watching this video about a BMW E9 batmobile and spotted a someone wearing one who talks to the presenter

That encounter was a while ago now. Thanks for the link, as I'd forgotten their Youtube 'channel' name and hadn't seen it.https://youtu.be/iNsQgbQxghA
To say I was speechless is pretty accurate. I was heading into Crondall from Well, when I spotted the car heading toward me. It was the first time I'd seen one outside of Goodwood events, and I was slack-jawed in admiration of it. You could tell instantly that it was the real deal, but it was VERY shiny, better than new, you might say.
Anyway, I desperately fumbled for my camera, even to grab a shot of it disappearing up the road, when the driver turned it around in the mouth of a junction and it trundled back toward me. He spotted me with my camera, and pulled over. Initially I thought he might be a bit of a dick, showing off in the car like those intolerable halfwits thrashing Lambos around Knightsbridge. Turns out he was not the owner, nor was he acting the fool.
I had a good look around the car at the pub in the village (where the guys were headed) and a bit of a chat about it. Turns out it is owned by BMW UK, and housed at their Farnborough headquarters. They wanted me to do a 'proper' piece to camera, but I'm not that keen to do that sort of thing, although I did give permission for them to use that clip. (I don't think they needed my permission, but they asked anyway.)
I'd share the photos I took of the car, but my desktop PC has had a wee meltdown in the last few days, so I'm not sure if the photos are still in it (they're not top quality pictures anyway). It's a truly beautiful car, though. Immaculate in every way. As a child of the 1970s it was a really big deal to spot one "in the wild" - even if it was only out to star in an online car programme.
One thing that struck me about the video was how fabulous my local cycling roads look on camera. It was a lovely day that day, but even then, the countryside can look a little 'flat' when you're cycling through it. maybe there was some filtering, or digital trickery going on, but rural north Hampshire has never looked so inviting!
Thanks again for that link!

Plus the fact, in those shorts, we could already virtually see your piece.I was more worried about how large my belly appears to be. Apparently I AM kidding myself about how awesome my physique is in Lycra™ after all!

Nah, they say TV adds a couple of stone. I know in real life you are usually known as "snake hips".
A couple of stone??? Cheers dude!
For some more 'Backhanded Compliments', see this link... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W0xvI4XuPFk
A great band, I've seen them live a few times as support to bigger headliners. A bit Arctic Monkeys if you like that sort of thing...

That would be me, I did the 100 mile route. My right knee has disintegrated! How did you get on?
Evening.I too have a ruined right knee! Started hurting about half way round the 66 miler but I carried on anyway. My left calf is really tight, I suspect from compensating, which makes using stairs entertaining.
PS. I'm not in the habit of taking covert pictures of people by the way...
