Heard by me and spotted by my wife behind - a triathlete going along the Phoenix Way near Thame. Sorry I didn't spot you or respond - by the time I realised what had happened we were past you. It was also my first cycle on clipless pedals so spent a lot of time concentrating. The triathlon looked like hard work in that heat so kudos for even attempting it. clap

Looking moody on the Isle of Wight

And you accuse someone else of looking 'special'?

Read Rule 27 and give those shorts back to the lady you borrowed them from.

Spotted on the Frieth Road heading towards Moorend Wood, Bucks, tonight at about 8:15pm. I was heading in the other direction and gave you a BIG wave wavey, just a shame I didn't have my PH top on, Bugger!

wavey

Me again, I am guessing you were the chap in the Wiggle top! I did give a shout and a wave, is it just me or is that stretch very draggy?

Hurrah!, yes it is very draggy, I did it on my way to work Monday morning and my legs were aching! Great to see you, I almost stopped but was on my way home after an evening rider of about 30 odd miles with a short pub stop in Watlington just before Christmas Common Hill (Hill Rd).

Nice to see a friendly face, there are some miserable buggers about at the moment! - also got a thumbs up from a Gold Wedge near Sonning and a Porker in Henley!

If you are out in the Watlington area seek out Britwell Hill on the road to Benson - found it last Friday, great climb! Then turn left at the top and you can descend on Howe Road back into Watlington - I recorded my fastest speed on that hill at 56mph last year!

Turned out my ride tonight was not to shabby in the end, considering I spent most of the time daydreaming I am quite happy with this; http://app.strava.com/activities/67622506

I will keep my eye out for you, I ride the Chilterns quite a lot so there is a good chance my ugly mug will be passing in the other direction some time soon! smile

JTFC! You're not kidding eek 50 miles at nearly 20mph average? In this weather?

I took my first spin on a road bike today, since last October rolleyes 16 miles at Av Sp 14.8mph, including a stop at Pedal Heaven in Fleet to buy a new chain. I was hanging out at the end of that. Seems that the off road stuff hasn't translated into roady fitness as readily as I'd hoped. Bloody hot this afternoon, too!

Still, at least I've got back on it, and out on the open road, without issue. Lesson learned in terms of appropriate clothing though. Baggy shorts with cotton undercrackers is a recipe for chafing apparently. Never again, even if I am only 'nipping out to the LBS'. Same goes for the comedy 'Muttley' t-shirt. Not exactly a wicking base layer, that.

S6PNJ last night at Christmas Common along with another P/H-er who's name I have rather embarrassingly forgotten!

Nice chatting to you guys last night, I think the idea of a P/H ride out from the Rebellion brewery around the Chilterns and back to Rebellion could have legs, maybe we need to start a thread........ wink

wavey It was Rob_T. Great to meet you too - a Chiltern's Ride Out could be a good thing! The Rebellion Brewery chap is mentioned on page 1 of this thread but I don't know who he is. There must be a few of us around this areas as well so could get a good group. A pint of Rebellion's finest would also go down a treat. Who's starting a list/thread then?

There was a PHer in an original black jersey doing the Brighton Big Doog MTB race yesterday. We had a brief chat on the first climb (I was in a Purple Bike Shed top) - hope it all went well and you enjoyed the course and the racing.

Saw a chap cycling into Marlow, Bucks, Friday mid afternoon, probably about 3:15 ish at a guess. First time I've seen a jersey and I've not been on my bike - have to say the jerseys do look good! I'll be out in mine today doing a pre route ride (100 miles) for the Marlow Red Kite Ride sportive on 1st Sep.

That may have been me (especially if the zip was open), I entered Marlow at 3pm on the A4155 from Henley before turning left onto Oxford Road (towards Platts Garage) to head up to Frieth.

Looking good, yes it was probably most likely you. Good stuff! Are you local to Marlow? There are a few of us with jerseys and there was talk of a Chilterns jersey ride.
