I regularly wear my yellow trimmed Owayo top on the MTB - I've lost weight since the purchase so it's a little looser than is ideal on the road bike, but not flapping about and irritatingly loose. Just right for MTBing and I've been up to Swinley myself once or twice recently.

I wore my old 'regimental' Lycra a couple of times recently, but PH gear is pretty much my default bike wear these days. A lot of the cheap "starter" Lycra I used to wear is scruffy now, or zips are knackered, so it's either been binned or is close to it.
I just need to find a decent pair of shorts, I've got Boardman ones and some random name from Amazon, but I find all the shorts too baggy, I prefer a slightly slimmer fit and not down passed the Knee

'Magic' colour-changing LED lights? And a head torch with a red lens? Why I think that might be me you are describing. I hope I was behaving properly and not being a dick. I was nowhere near either the start or the end of the RideLondon event though.

My ride started just after 2:00pm, Farnborough to Ripley via Brookwood and Send. Then I followed the southern part of the RideLondon route, got caught at the A25 after Leith Hill, waiting for the pro peloton to clear off, then followed behind them as far as Kingston. There, I joined the 'out' route back to Ripley and home again. A good chunk at the end was done in the dark so I'm glad I put those childish LED valve lights on to brighten things up a bit, and to use up some of the 40 LR1130 batteries I bought ahead of my aborted Dunwich Dynamo plan. Home by around 10:20pm... https://www.strava.com/activities/660170513

Edit: I think it was you who recommended CPC for those batteries. Good call, thanks! I ordered more than I needed to meet the free delivery threshold (it made sense when I did the maths) and they were delivered far faster than I expected.

No Problem about CPC, I did the same.

No someone I know saw you and I thought I would find out who it was. I assume you had the head torch on in the day hence his comment. Better be seen than run over as you well know.

The head torch? That's a fixture now really. Just a buckshee head torch I was given, or possibly found on the training area. The elastic strap is knackered, so I attached it with cable ties to the front of my crash hat for the Battle on the Beach event I did back in March. There was a night time Battle in the Dark 'time trial' event as part of the weekend. The torch has stayed put since then, and it's useful for seeing the Garmin display in the dark (backlight is now switched off permanently as it eats battery life) and if I have a puncture or mechanical issue I've got immediate light to see what I'm up to. I won't take it off, as even at this time of year I do a reasonable amount of my riding in the evenings as the light fades, and sometimes well into darkness.

The person you know who saw me? Was it the chap with a lovely steel (753) bike I briefly chatted to on the A25 while we waited for the closure to lift after the elite race went through? He asked about the wheel lights too. Those were a silly gift from my wife that she didn't think I'd actually use...

No link to the ones I have. My wife got them for me when she did a 40th birthday 'gift box' thing for me. 40 years - 40 presents. A couple were serious presents, a few were useful everyday things, and some (like these LED lights) were "stocking filler" throwawy items when she started running out of ideas.

She didn't expect me to use them, nor for them to last, but I've managed to both use them and change batteries to keep them going. They draw ever such pretty multi-coloured circles in the dark as you ride along and are automatic. Light & Motion sensors switch them on only when you are moving AND it's dark enough. After my (daylight) experience of being T-boned by a van, I'm going to do everything possible to avoid it happening again.

Sadly no direct link, as I don't know where they came from, and 'K' can't remember where she bought/ordered them. Lots of them on eBay, but mine look a lot like these... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/191756974003?lpid=1... ...although knowing my wife, they probably didn't come from eBay but more likely a 'proper' gift website or a bricks'n'mortar shop. They seem to only come sized for Schrader valves, but there are brass Schrader/Presta valve adapters to get them to fit the skinnier valves.

Looking a bit happier today - is the recovery going well?
Tearing up!? You're very generous. Recovery fine, laziness and lack of mileage more of a problem. The car had become too much of an easy option, 3 trips to office this week, plan to do the same next week

That would most likely be me - I was heading downhill having come up past Robert Mays School - lots of people coming past in the other direction and someone shouted 'nice top m8'. I was wearing the MTB top from last season which I'm now alternating with this years black road jersey.

Was out on one of my loops round odiham, greywell, rotherwick, hartley wintney etc

Always nice to get shout out smile
