I didn't honk, no. As a cyclist I find it can be annoying, so I try not to do it. I did wave but the windows in my car are quite dark and you probably wouldn't have realised what I was doing anyway.

I hope the ride went well.
I must remember to honk every time I see a cyclist in the city centre now. wink

Spotted a chap in a PH jersey getting on the train at Colchester today.

Managed a smile but was trying not to stack it in cleats!

I have to say that whenever I don mine, it usually gets a thumbs up.

It's a brilliant design and rather exclusive.

Yes! Spotted!!!

I'd come from Lymm and when you seen me I was returning from climbing the Wizard. I went home via Tatton Wall and Arley Hall.

MissB just rang to ask me if there were PistonHeads cycling tops!

She Just exchanged pleasantries with one of you while out on horseback, said it was a rather handsome chap....I told her "Nah can't have been anyone from here, they are all ugly bds"

Good to hear the Jerseys are getting noticed out and about, I've yet to spot one myself.

Can you claim a spotted by proxy?

Stopped off at the esso garage in buxton today to recharge the water. Lady asked me how my trip to longnor was - we established it was another chap in the same top, who popped in to borrow a map.

The only 2 people i know that ride locally are rouleaur and steve vrs - and i'm pretty confident the former knows how to get to ngnor from 20 different directions, if his multiple ride mapper squiggle a year ago was right (the entire peak disttrict was red).. So, anyone owning up to being a cheeky bugger and browsing the road atlas?

Not guilty!

I'm a bit further west than Buxton but do venture up the Cat and Fiddle every now and again!

Castle Combe a few nights ago, somebody wearing a PH jersey taking part in a time trial. I was loading my bike into the back of the black GTI parked on the verge where you were starting from.

Nice day for it. I was on a 40 mile blast after work, the head wind ruined the descent from where I'd parked towards Combe. There was a bit of a tail wind on the way back though.

The back roads around there are lovely. Very few cars and nice surfaces and Tetbury is usually my midpoint. Happy to stick links up to some of the routes on Garmin if you ever want any. Or I'd be happy to receive links to anything you might recommend.

Snip.
Yeh the wind normally blows the other way up there but that makes the back section of the TT a bit harder as you're on a slight incline coming back and battling the head wind!

Are you on strava? I'm on the PH club so all my (slow) routes are there, we often venture around tetbury, cheddar and over the bridge around Monmouth, Tintern etc.

Not on Strava - I'm not quick enough for any of that KOM stuff (ave. speed around 17.5 mph). I use the Garmin as a bit of a training aid as much as anything, but it's nice to see where I've been since I usually make the routes up as I go along, often turning down roads I've never been down just to explore.
