Nighthawk, yep its a smiley. Its a bit painted on for my liking, you might find it a bit tight across the shoulders and if you have any sort of front counterbalance, very tight across the stomach.
I'm hoping to lose the belly smile so not bothered about it being a bit snug there. I have other race fit tops that are ok across chest and shoulders. Bit concerned about the "painted on", is it likely to peel off in the first wash.....that'd be disappointing on an expensive top.

When we refer to the "painted on" look is a referance to it being a 2nd skin, not the pattern being painted on the top of the fabric. The logo etc is dyed into the material, not an add on to the material.

What size do the 3/M fit?

ETA: looks like a 3/M would fit me, what's the difference between the styles? (Apologies is this is really obvious to everyone else).

Just got back in and replied to your mail. Sorry for the slow reply, was out riding the "Tour de PH" all day today. Can't have a better excuse than that! smile

It's a fair question and, in case anyone else is wondering the same, this is what I wrote in the reply

In my reply I said:
Yes, it's the cool and/or miserable weather design. It's not fully waterproof but it's rain repellent - water just beads off but a prolonged downpour would probably be too much for it. Warmth wise, it's a light roubaix material. Perfect for spring or autumn but probably better suited to grey or drizzly summer days than full sun scorchers. It's basically a copy of the Castelli Gabba that all the pros wore in last year's Giro on the foul days. The Lakes might be a bit cooler than down here because of the elevation but you would probably want something else for the warmer days,

It's the top of Bioracer's range and the most expensive of their jerseys at £87.50 but compared to the £150 Gabba it makes a lot of sense. It depends if this is the kind of jersey you're looking for really!
edit - Their other styles we bought were:

Race Proven - An aero cut summer jersey
Bodyfit - an athletic cut (i.e. slightly more relaxed) summer jersey
Quadri - A relaxed cut summer jersey
Freeride - An MTB jersey

Hope that helps. Let me know if you're interested.

I started off Stage 2 in the PH Tempest yesterday. It was cold, it was lashing down and we had a 30mph headwind. I put a fully waterproof Rapha race cape on an hour later (same conditions) and then took it off after 30 minutes because I thought the bare Tempest was dealing with the rain better. It might have been soaked through (I really don't know) but it was warm and I felt perfectly comfortable. I was very impressed with it.

I have the Race Proven 3/M, I'm 6'2" 70KG and a 38" chest, it's absolutely bang on.

3/M Race Proven, 6'4", 80kg, 40" chest. Aero fit! Could have got away with a 4/L, I suspect, but the 3/M is still my new go-to jersey.

I've collected them from the local drop-off place but I won't be able to get them sorted today. I'll do that in the morning and then arrange courier collection to pick up ASAP (likely Weds).

Finally tried on my Tour jersey and very good it is too. I wouldn't want to go any smaller that's for sure.

Thanks to Celtic Dragon I have a size 4 smiley, it's a bit tighter than the advertised sizing chart would have you believe but at least it won't be flapping about in the breeze. size 5 for the next order though biggrin
