Lidl doing bike offers from next Thursday, not as extensive as the Aldi range http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-E26CB968-3E7A0C0...
I ended up getting the bike stand from Lidl last week and m very happy with it.

Nowt for me this time, I fear. I just got "that look" from my wife. You know, the look that says "you have quite enough cycling kit to be getting on with. Do NOT even think about buying any more..."

FFS, whenever i see a post like this it depresses me. Unless youre up to your gills in debt whats is the issue with £8.99 on a new cycling top or £3.50 for some new gloves. Under the thumb!

I'm on a fixed pension income, so no debt but no desire to start getting into any either.

The main issue is that I like the look of some of this Aldi (Team GB) stuff, but already have three unopened (decent quality) jerseys, and two (maybe three?) pairs of those cheap gloves in a storage box in a wardrobe, among a bunch of seldom worn winter/long sleeved tops and enough socks to keep a millipede's toes warm.

So in this case she's correct, and I have decided to take her advice on board. That, and the fact that I've spent just south of £150 on freshening up the drive trains on two bikes this past week, and I have a third that recently went u/s in a bad way. What cash I can put into the 'cycling kitty' has vastly higher priorities on which to be spent than "more of what you've already got too much of..."

...but thanks for your concern! wink

Just noticed a few mountain bike offers in Aldi this Sunday - 19th March:

Gloves - awesome for the money!
Bike repair stand
Packable jackets
Shorts
Muc Off

Gloves look like a good call. Both the pairs I'm wearing are close to being "more repair than original glove" now. I'll have a look at the MTB shorts too, I think. Baggy shorts are the one thing I don't have a lot of.

The jackets look OK but as before, a few posts up, I still have a bunch of unworn Aldi/Lidl cycling gear from previous offers.

I am tempted by the work stand actually, however old and tatty.

Anyone bought it and does it come with a 6 second warranty ?

My tatty old stand has lasted more than the three year guaranty period with no complaints - just make sure the head bolt is tightened up as otherwise are likely to see your bike fall to planet earth. wink

Don't, it's crazy. I bought one, it didn't read pressure correctly. Bought a JoeBlow like I should have done in the first place!

Ah, OK thanks. I have a perfectly good Lezyne pump but it doesn't have a gauge unfortunately.

My Joeblow is 16 years old. Still going strong despite me trying to destroy it since then. Incredible product they are those.
