Thanks for the heads up. Some good gear there. Glasses for £2.99.

Bike repair tool kit and stand for £50 all in too.

The Bike pannier rack is the same as the one I bought from Aldi a few years ago - it has been absolutely brilliant. Takes a lot of weight, is highly adjustable and is big enough to take big panniers. Mine's had a daily hammering since i got it and I can't believe it's actually cheaper now than when I got mine...

Good man, cheers for heads up

Yeah get loads of he glasses, they were really good for £3: Great as spares in car and for bike

the mitts are great for communing, worn them loads, they "feel" and look crap, but have really lasted

The lycra shorts were good for communing as well

Cant really go wrong

I use the computer allbiet the wired one and its fine. The magnet and sensor is a bit big and bulky and not that great but otherwise it does the job. Even gives temperature, calories burned and equivilant c02 saving although i think this function doesnt work properly.

Lidl doing bike offers from next Thursday, not as extensive as the Aldi range http://www.lidl.co.uk/cps/rde/SID-E26CB968-3E7A0C0...

Thanks, I'll probably pick one up, at that price even if it sucks all I'm after is an average speed reading

Okay, which is better - The Aldi workstand or the Lidl workstand?

They look identical. The Lidl one has a 3 year warranty but nothing mentioned on the Aldi one.

I'll buy the Aldi and you get the Lidl and then we can compare notes.

Went in today. Aldi is a special place frequented by people you just don't find mots places.

Anyway, got the workshop stand, does have a 3 year warranty. Seems ok. Think if you had a really tight nut (or bottom bracket) and put to much force into you may have trouble but otherwise should be fine. Got plenty of glasses in different shades. They are really good nice tight fit. Also got a multi tool, with chain tool, tyre leavers and allen keys for £5.

The merino jerseys were definitely jerseys too. Not a base layer. The medium was massive on me and I am a snug large in PistonHeads cycling tops... Nice trying on clothes in a packed supermarket with the two-year-old in tow.

Gave the workstand a go tonight, much better than expected for under £30...

Yep I tried my workstand out at the weekend. Bloody good bit of kit. Feels sturdy enough.

For £30 with a 3 year warranty you can't argue.

I was just about to put this in the what bike bits thread, but I'll put it here as well.

Make sure you tighten this allen bolt firmly...

...I hadn't touched it since I bought mine. Wasn't obviously loose but the whole clamp worked it's way off whilst I was indexing my gears last night.

Lidl had their bike stands on sale last week, they might still have some in.
