The only real hill is Cadsden. No Whiteleaf or Kop hill on the Amersham route.
Yes, was looking to get a little tow up either of them, or even Wardrobes. Never tried Cadsden before though.Gruffy said:
I'll see you Amersham riders in the morning. PH jersey and water wings at the ready.
Unlikely to ride Amersham tomorrow as still feeling iffy after post hols bug which I though would have cleared. If anyone was looking to ride but didn't get in and wants to be me just for the ride. Let me know. Not feeling great or happy about this. Mike

Sorry to read that. Hope you feel better soon.Mike
Rode Amersham yesterday and Thames Ditton today. Both quite different but both enjoyable.
Amersham was ~50 riders and quite informal. We all set off together and just settled into natural groups. As a result we could just set our own pace. It was a bit short and featureless at 50km but they probably need to make it inclusive for everybody.
Thames Ditton was 100+ riders and an altogether more professional approach. Not to say it was better though. We were split into groups by self-categorised average speeds, each with a ride leader and a general leave-no-man-behind approach. As a result the pace was very relaxed and although everybody in the group claimed to average >21mph there were some who struggled a bit at our eventual 18mph average. It made for a social ride instead and I got a chance to chat to most riders, who were all good eggs. Very nice group. Thames Ditton also win on pre- and post-ride goodies. 'Help yourself to gels and bars' and then rolls and goodies from G!RO afterwards.
No sales stuff or marketing on either event. Nothing at all, beyond the goodie bag with the Jaguar magazine. I entered these purely for the chance to make the final competition, but they were pleasant rides out in their own right. With high participation numbers I'm unlikely to be drawn but I'd recommend them to PHers in the future. They did say that one dealership had just 4 riders one year. Those are better odds. Sadly I didn't catch which dealership it was
I still pine for an F-Type R and look forward to meeting one at the bottom of the depreciation curve a few years from now.
