Ride like a pro with Sky and Jag
Discussion
Having got in I have been trying to find out any details about this that I can, yet nobody knows. The email and confirmation is so scant, it simply says, "your in".
No idea on start times, duration, order of day, numbers in group, what to bring or expect etc. I phoned the local dealer, who know nothing about anything.
Reading between the lines I hope this is not just a st, short local pootle by fat Jag owners followed by a load of gawping at their cars.

Alternatiely I hope it is do-able rather than dominated by mega-milers averaging 20 mph plus! (surely there are cycling clubs for that sort of thing!?)
The worcester isn't on strava but looks to be 40-50 miles of not too intimidating stuff.
ETA: I calculate 48.

The Bristol event was a 55 mile ride south towards Clevedon and then back via Cheddar Gorge which would have been fun. If you search strava activites for "ride like a pro" or "Jaguar" you should find the routes. I'm sure it wont be full of dentists on brand new Dogmas...
You have to join the Strava group to apply, and all it shows is peoples activities that are members of the group (like the PH group). There are no routes and no info.I am waiting for a call back from the organiser at my local dealer so should know more shortly.
Got the call, it is a 55 mile route with a support car(s) and 50 riders taking part. Sounds interesting.
Bearing mind they seem to have selected people based on their ability (you had to link your Strava data in order to apply) and bearing mind they are selecting a lucky two riders to train with Sky in Majorca next year, I wonder how competitive the ride will end up being

"Cyclists across the UK will have the opportunity to Ride like a Professional in association with Jaguar and Team Sky at organised events between 21st September and 13th October."
So Sky and Jaguar's definition of the UK is.......
...... England
Nothing north of Newcastle or in Wales. So why advertise it as UK wide if it is only in England? Shame, would liked to have done this if there had been a central Scotland option.

They seem to be insisting that the selection of 2 riders for the final will not be based on performance during the ride out.
ETA: They cannot be basing it on ability as they have let me in!
Where you getting that from?ETA: They cannot be basing it on ability as they have let me in!

I can't see how they cannot do it this way, if your going to be selected to go to Majorca you need to be a decent enough rider to cut it, depending on exactly what this mystery trip to Majorca actually entails of course.
I have insider info as our cycling club are helping to arrange the event, and I have just been asked to become a route leader, as one of our members has designed the Southampton route but is unable to attend.
From the email I have just been cc'd into:
We’re hoping to have a prize draw on the day with prizes from Jaguar and Team Sky partners Rapha, Kask and Gatorade – this is currently unconfirmed at the moment though. What is confirmed, however, is that participants will have the exclusive opportunity to enter a prize draw to win one of two places on an expenses paid trip to Majorca in 2014 to ride with Team Sky at their training camp
Participants will get the opportunity to take part in an organised ride out with a Jaguar XF Sportbrake (the official Team Sky car) following with a professional mechanic and refreshments in tow
Here is the Southampton route http://www.strava.com/routes/27660

ETA: From T&Cs - To enter the competition, simply complete the non-competitive Dealer ride out event and ensure the Dealership has your contact details. They also say prize draw a lot.

Think of it as a two round competition:
Round 1: Go for a ride, look at some cars, be marketed to. By taking part you gain entry to a draw from which the two drawn entrants will go forward to round 2.
Round 2: Go to a Jaguar day at a circuit and take part in timed driving and cycling events. The two people with the fastest combined times will win a trip to Majorca.

Anyone doing the Plymouth one? Not had my email yet, mind...
I'm doing the Plymouth one (well, hoping to). I havent had an email yet either, I'm going to go along regardless I think.Have you still got the 540i?
Brunhilda, or the "hurry-up hearse" will be making an appearance.
Got my route through for the Guildford ride this Sunday, looks a decent route. Only three climbs of note, Box Hill, Chalk Lane & Green Dene and a road I have never done before called Guildford Rd which runs up the back of Newlands from Albury to Guildford. I am not particularly phased by those, so should be a decent pace.
I've ridden pretty much all the route before at some point or another too it helps knowing where I am going as I can't download it to my Edge 200.
