Its getting to that time of year again, when bad weather or just shorter days can put us onto the trainer.

Just sorting out my latest training area at the moment and wanting inspiration.

Come on, show us where you suffer!

In the living room in front of the TV!

Though I have been known to turbo in a shed that was JUST big enough to fit a bike in!

Missus wont have it in the house - too noisy! Banished to the garage, which is probably the best place as at least its fairly cold (including the fan even in the grip of winter).

Garage, which is a bit of a pain as it is not attached to the house.........

here is mine at the moment sadly frown

Just haven't been well or had the time to get it out of the damn box yet.

Off to the LBS to get another wheel sorted so I don't ruin my brand new PG400s..

Will get some pics up when it is in the garage ASAP.

I just put it all together in the lounge in front of the TV. I've got one of the gel ones and its not that loud. Currently not using the Turbo as I'm cycling to work nearly everyday smile

There is no way I'd have it in the garage. Bit too cold and miserable frown

A very poor quality pic taken mid way through a 2 x 20min test on trainer road. Setup is in the spare/junk room and has everything I need.

Oh and yes that is my ironing board doubling up as a laptop, drink and towel holder smile

Here's mine. Basically a rather cold, damp garage with a turbo, some rollers, a laptop and an iPod to keep me going.
Needless to say I don't particularly like spending time in there on the turbo or rollers but it's handy for when I can only fit an hour in before or after work.

On a side note, I did my first TrainerRoad session since last winter this morning. I've decided that doing the 8 minute test without any breakfast in me is not a good idea wobble

Thats the thing, the better the environment, the more I'll enjoy the training. I could have thrown my trainer up in amongst all of the st in my garage, but I wouldn't want to go in there. I'm currently in the middle of painting the walls, floor and boarding the ceiling out before putting some better lighting in.

I've got a laptop, but I'm tempted to find someone throwing out a really large old CRT TV. Theyre worth nowt, so might as well make the most of it!

I borrowed one to try it, Missus hated it..

it's gone, have to say unless it's horizontal rain I'd rather be riding outside. If it's wet I usually take the mountain bike.

I bought one about 5 years ago, to come back from an injury and whilst I used it to rehabilitate, I didnt enjoy it.
Sitting on there listening to music staring at my garage wall was pretty soul destroying purely because I needed t
Some visual stimulation to go with it. I then bought a good trainer a couple of years back and I bought DVDs to train with. Its made the world of difference, along with analysing my performance and having some kind of structured training plan. I just need to get back into it all now.

Hang on a minute, I think I'm on to something here...

May I ask all you chaps to acquire this kit?

If you use it all year round, you can simulate bad weather with a fan and the missus chucking the odd bucket of cold water over you.

That way, I can get on with my work and hooning without getting held up all the time.

This sounds like a win:win situation to me, what think you?

MBH, how about you install a rolling road in your garage and then you won't have to deal with us pesky cyclists either... wink
