Rode to work today, 20 miles and witnessed the following:
Cement Lorry heading the wrong way down a 1 way street (cycle path runs along road)
Van heading the wrong way down another 1 way street (even after I pointed it out to him)
A car undertaking a learner in a 30, by going into a bus lane.
A car towing a small trailer with a flat tyre, and smoke pouring off it.
I get a bit wound up when cyclist are constantly moaned about, yet in 20 miles I witnessed all the above.
I bet you also saw several vehicles with one headlamp bulb out. That is one of my pet hates and I see many cars with only one working headlamp bulb. Cement Lorry heading the wrong way down a 1 way street (cycle path runs along road)

Don't know if you are on Bookface, but this guy seems to stick up for cycling. He was the reason the path was swept. I have sent him the picture.

Cycle path was swept yesterday. An excellent job as you can see....
Seriously? That is a cycle path?It needs complete resurfacing, along with a physical barrier of some kind to keep you on the path should you be pitched off the bike by an obstruction.
Can you imagine hitting a tree root, or some driver's fallen exhaust silencer in the dark, then being thrown into the path of traffic on a busy dual carriageway? In the dark?
That is disgusting, and I would seriously consider not using it, but going onto the carriageway instead (if that's a legal option). I'm not saying I definitely would, as I've no experience of that road, but I'd certainly consider it. Shocking.

I wouldn’t dream of cycling on that road, it’s a 50mph dual carriage way, mainly used by lorries and vans.It needs complete resurfacing, along with a physical barrier of some kind to keep you on the path should you be pitched off the bike by an obstruction.

GarryDK recorded his commute on this "cycle path" this morning.
You can watch it here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3BXIgtfytE&fe...
This is heading out of Southampton westbound. I ride the opposite way.

I unfortunately witnessed the aftermath of a woman who had been knocked off her bike by an van today.
She was riding along the cyclepath adjacent to the Millbrook Road towards Southampton, and a van had turned across her. There was an ambulance in attendance and a police car arrived as I passed. The van was still blocking the path as I passed.
It's not the first time I have seen an accident at this location, and was nearly caught out myself last week when a car turned across me as I headed home. I wish the woman a speedy recovery and hope the injuries are not too serious.
