Anyone else got a thing for retro bike?

These are my two, ones a more modern frame but with some choice retro parts. The others just out and out retro single speed.

I bought this a weeks ago to build up:

1992 Alpinestars AlMega XT.

I've also got a 1996 Kona Lavadome which I love.

I have a '93 GT Tequesta I've had from new.

Currently sitting in semi kit form as I decide what to do with it.

No pictures though as I'm on my tablet. I'll dig some out when I'm next on the laptop.

My pride and joy.
Owned since early 90s. I built it up with original XT, ringle hubs, cook bros cranks, pace chainrings, original manitou forks plus I also have the original accu-trax rigid forks, syncros, etc

Lad at the end of the road had one of these. He also had the matching Giant downhill bike lucky guy frown

I've always wanted both.

Will get a picture of my 1992 TREK 930 Single Track with Deore DX thumb shifters, once I return home after xmas. I was gutted when thumb shifters died - not sure if you can buy any high end thumbies nowadays?

A family member has a pretty unused Alpinestars cro-megs DX. Anybody have an idea of its worth??

I've got a 1992 Marin Pine Mountain which is in a bit of a sorry state cosmetically - the paint on the frame is okay, but the decals are long gone; the forks are not the right colour; the bars are risers rather than flats. Mechanically it's good.

I keep meaning to get it resprayed and looking a lot smarter but it's a bit of a faff.

In the meantime, a friend has an early 1990s Lava Dome which he no longer uses and is happy to sell to me. Last time I saw it, I seem to think it was in prety good condition - and for a price less than it would cost me to get the Pine Mountain resprayed with new decals.

I've got an unsympathetically upgraded/converted for road use 92/93 Kirk Revolution. In the last couple of months it spat out it's BB shells and then I managed to crack the bit at the top of the seat tube. It’s a real pi55er as I had it just as I wanted it.

I’m on the lookout for another frame for it, either another Kirk or something else that’s old that I wanted as a teenager but couldn’t afford. The post above has got me thinking about Alpinestars…

I’ve always got my eye on Marins from the early 90s. I used to have the catalogues memorised.
