I built this a couple of years ago. An old alloy Carrera frame (which creaks a bit), Rock Shox J2 (I think) with remote lock out, Flite titanium saddle and a bit of a mix of 21speed Shimano stuff. Would be nice to find a better frame for it at some point, although can't decide on size at the moment as it may be used by my wife once I finally get my Trek Y built up.

Here are a sample my bikes

The Haro Zippo, bought in 1999 for around £100

The hardtails

left to right..
1) Saracen X-Ess, pre release frame, I won it in a competition about 3 or 4 months before it went on general sale (yes it usually has a saddle!!)
2) 1999 GT Arrowhead - my first "proper" mountain bike I bought brand new , it's a triggers broom now an sports mostly LX and a few XT bits with Rockshox Judys
3) DDG Shooter, originally spec'd as a trials bike but has since been converted to a dual slalom/jump bike with Marazochis, mid size chainring/chain guide and Hopes front & Rear.

**** I still have some rigid forks with disc mount on them if anyone is interested in modernising a old rigid.

I also have a GT Pantera frame an fork - think it's a 14.5 inch which could be a nice retro build if anyone is interested.
looks like this

Some great bikes in here.

Here is one of mine, a Steve Potts 'Tamoflage' CCR.

I've just picked this up after winning it on eBay smile

£30 and it runs perfectly true with very little surface rust, just right for being my new town bike.

Aside from a set of gumwall City Jets, Rapidfire triggers and new grips there is nothing that needs doing.

A selection of retro machines rebuilt / modified by me over the last few years. Even took the Parkpre Team 925 to Mountain Mayhem back in 2015 & she held together very nicely, although brake fade could have been a bit of a problem if the race had been any longer than 24 hours lol.

Is that the first one in this thread with disks? Nice..!!

I couldn't go back to cable rim brakes after hydraulic disks.
