My friend and I want to go over there but unfortunately it will probably have to be a weekend due to work and other reasons.
Due to this we would need to plan a long time I advancd to get a uplift place, this again will be hard to do. So first things first, is it worth a two hour drive to get there to push/ride up the hill? Also how long does it take for two 'fitish' people to get to the top?

Thanks all biggrin

I shall give it a go then biggrin. It doesn't bother me about the time, both to get there and up to the top. I would go tomorrow if I could. Mate can be a bit of a softie so its more just to let him know.

Thanks biggrin

It's well worth a visit. Also, you can join the uplift on a per trip basis for about £4/trip if memory serves. Obviously those with day passes get priority, so could be a bit of a wait depending on how busy it is.

It's well worth 2 hours.

The uplift is a nightmare for me, I live in Cardiff so I'd like to be up there every weekend - but the Wife is a nurse and works shifts, of which we get 2 weeks notice - the uplift is usually booked for the following 10 weeks - and week days aren't much better.

Takes me 40 mins to pedal to the top and I'm not even fittish. As has been said, you don't need to be booked on the van to get on, but it's a lottery - I've been 4-5 times now and only twice I've failed to get on a van because it's been full, but you could be there for hours. Also it first opened it's doors last Oct - we don't even know how it's going to be during summer yet - I know the uplift is booked till late July now and they're begging for people to car share because the car park is full all the time.

Worth bearing in mind, that if you either can't book a place, or you chance it and it's too full to even get in the place - a brand new DH track and XC track have just opened down the road in Cwmcarn and the uplift will start serving all 4 tracks soon - they've been hit really hard by BPW so will welcome business, it's pretty easy to get on a lift there now.

Thanks again. Well asked my mate if he would be able to get a weekend day free and he has said next month some time so thats a start! Uplifts are fully booked so it will be the walk/ride up to the top or the odd uplift if we are lucky!

P-jay will bare the other one in mind then thanks for that, may be nice to get a clear go down if there are fewer people on the tracks, also knowing your not holding anyone up biggrin
