"What ride have you signed up for?"

Definitely NOT this one...

http://bookmyride.ipcshop.co.uk/shop/cw-sportive-s...

£90 (short) or £100 (standard/epic) to ride the Box Hill Original sportive yikes

Non-VIP entry is...

£25 (short) or £35 (standard/epic). Is the £65 premium for VIP entry worth it? The extras are...

'VIP' Parking - But I've been to so many events where VIP parking costs more, but gets you no discernible priority/benefit.
Breakfast in 'VIP' area - OK, so this would seem to be a benefit. But a decent catered breakfast is what? £6 tops?
Priority start - Not sure of the benefits of this. After all, it's not actually a 'race' so why the need to start at the front?
Post ride lunch in 'VIP' area - Again, a tangible 'something' for your money. £20 would sort you out a decent lunch of a couple of courses with a drink, though.
Official Event Jersey - No idea if these will be available for the plebs to buy, nor at what price.
Sports Massage - Now this sounds nice after a 102 mile ride. How long a massage do you get. (£10/15mins for the plebs on previous events)
Download link to event photos - How many pictures do they take of each rider? Unlimited downloads? It isn't clear.

Totting it up, it would appear to be getting toward reasonable value if you're the sort of chap who avails himself of everything at such an event, but it's still such a big headline figure to ride a route I can do for free on any day of the week. I wonder how many 'VIP' packages they sell?

That VIP is pricey, but then again so are most sportives, I mean £30 to ride a route you could for free??

I'm not knocking it and I ride em', but end of the day you are paying for old rope

Audaxing look much better value
