Harlech - Road or MTB country.

Having a week in Harlech at the end of summer but can only take 1 bike,
Is it a Road bike or MTB area?

That's a really tough question, you have three or four brilliant mtb trail centres less than an hour away or some great road routes but from memory, any road route will include a long drag on the A496 as there are no roads over the hills to the west and the A470, if you can tolerate that then there are some good routes around and some very quiet roads. If you get to Dolgellau you can do the PH road ride from last year! Personally though, I love Coed y Brenin so I'd take the mtb!

I will have the car so there is the option of throwing whichever bike in the boot.

sounds like the perfect excuse to by a cx bike, N+1 and all that.

There must be a way of taking both You know you'll be kicking yourself for not taking one of them, you are there for a week after all!

Take e road bike but both sets of kit. If you fancy some MTBing hire a bike at one of the trail centres.
