...Was aiming for 3000 miles by the end of the year but looks like one more commute to work and I'll hit it, anything after that is a bonus. I've already beaten last years total by 600 miles smile

Looks like my last post put the mockers on it!

I have been suffering with the most painful and debilitating strain of flu I have ever had since last Friday....today is the first day out of bed but my chest is very sore and my legs are in agony - not the tolerable sort of agony you get at the end of a hard rid, the sort of agony that makes you want to cut them off and stick them in the bin!

I am still hopeful of hitting 12k miles for the year but rather than coasting over the 12k mark it might be a bit tight now....

I'm impressed with my elevation gain as I live in a Flat Part of the country but have had a few 2000ft + rides away from home.

1500 miles is my revised target - 50mile / week average from now to the end of the year - may be doable, I'm on target this week anyway!

All MTB this year - think I may invest in a Road Bike for next year, a change of jobs has given me my evenings back.

Does peoples above include Turbo Trainers / Rollers?
Not long to go now!

been doing a few night rides lately, despite some long hours, getting married and a week of illness I have been hitting my 50mile / week target and currently sit on 1,448 miles, should get to 1,500 this side of Christmas....

My update on the subject of mileage for the year...

Even after downgrading my target to 2,500 miles for the year, it's still looking unlikely that I'll achieve it. Still, it sounds better when I remind myself that I was off the bike injured for four months, and everything since February has been done on my MTB. If I can average a little over 70 miles per week for the remainder of the year, I ought to make 2,200 miles (just about).
...after today's ride, 2,000 miles looks like it should be easily reached, but I'm not sure I'll make it to 2,200 by New Year's Eve...

Year-to-Date:

Distance - 1,923.3 mi

Elev Gain - 92,625 ft

No real target and hoping to bang out some good stuff in Ireland over XMas.

Last year was 8700km for the year. I guess that's progress smile

To date the stats, in accordance with rule 24, are as follows;

Distance 2,290 kms
Time 89h 41m
Elev Gain 13,525m
Rides 141

Very much enjoyed commuting on the bike this year whilst SWMBO is on mat leave, the downside is the lack of opportunity to get out at the weekend for the longer rides though, bought a new bike and some breathtaking carbon clinchers too...

Pleased to be passing the double 2013 mileage shortly. Will be pleased to also be passing 3,000 miles which is 500 up on what originally hoped for at the start of the year. Pleased to currently have commuted 3 out of 4 days that I've been in the office this year. Hoping to crack 5,000km though it'll be christmas drinks dependant.

Even though Strava mileage shouldn't be a factor I'd like to get drag my lazy 4rse out of bed earlier on the weekends next year and get some more time on the bike where it isn't commuting.

My last ride of the year was yesterday so here are the final stats of 2014 (May-Dec):

Distance: 5,666km (3,520 miles)
Elevation: 40,828m
Time: 224h

I only bought the bike in May as a complete beginner and started with 20km rides. It ramped up quickly in June and it would be fair to say I caught the bug. I'm targeting 10,000km and 100,000m of climbing in 2015.

So far:

Distance: 4026 miles
Time: 242hrs
Elev Gain: 75,128ft
Rides: 514! (Daily commute is a 2 part ride each way, split up by train journey, so this stat is slightly misleading!)

Got back on the bike on Monday, first time since early November. Minor Operation on the man bit's to ensure no more kids meant I couldn't ride.

Managed 110 miles in 3 days of riding - must say, felt ok throughout. I'm done now till January - when I intend to go nuts and smash it as always.

Therefore, yearly mileage stands at 7110 miles. Thats 1110 more than my target.

Next year I want to see 8000 miles.

Bring it!

Distance: 3,885 miles

Elev gain: 119,000 ft

I should be able to nudge over 4,000 before the year is out. smile

I need to do 650 miles before the end of the year in order to hit my target.

I don't think this is going to happen.

Well I'm pretty much done for the year, got a couple of dayts riding but nothing major here are my stats for the year.

Year-to-Date
Distance 3,801.4 mi
Elev Gain 81,932 ft

Thats 300 miles more than last year and I had nearly a month off after my accident. Which meant I am short of my target.

I am going to set a mightly target of 6000 miles next year though.

I don't know, but it feels more than last year. 10-15 hrs a week.

Santa's bringing me a gps for navigation but I hope I don't start logging/chasing data again.
