All done and dusted for this year...

Year-to-Date...

Distance - 1,974.7 mi
Time - 212h 8m
Elev Gain - 95,751 ft
Rides - 132

So... 25.3 miles (aka: 2 easy rides) short of a nice round 2,000 irked

Real life really did get in the way on some days, but mostly it was my own fault. Too much sitting about procrastinating, when I ought to have been out riding. Still, it's not too bad, considering I had four months off after a collision with an errant van in February.

Here's wishing you all a happy, healthy, and prodigious cycling year for 2015!

2,944 miles
422,411 feet elevation (yes its hilly here)
242 hr 33 min
464 rides

I did most of that in the first part of last year and have only been straight commuting the second half of the year. Can't see me getting near those totals in 2015.

So 2014 was a good year for me - I doubt I'll get anywhere near it for 2015 due to a few major events happening!

Total Miles - 5,279 (target was 5,000)
Total Elevation - 242,923 ft
Total Time - 326:37:45 hrs
Total Count - 165

I'm happy with that lot!

My plan was to ride 5,000 miles but that was thrown up in the air when I fractured two vertebrae in May then took a tumble off a bike in September which meant I was off my bike for 14 weeks in total.

I did however manage

4,250.55 miles
Max Distance: 100.27 miles
Elevation Gain: 174,072 ft
Max Elevation Gain: 5,673 ft

There's always 2015 to reach my goal

Lumpy!

I managed:

5,030 miles
332,000 vertical feet.

Does anyone else include miles earned on the turbo trainer? I reckon 15 miles on a turbo are far harder than 15 miles on the road.

Nope. That's cheating.

How do you mean? Half an hour spinning in front of the TV watching Corrie or an hour's hill repeats on the roads?

It depends on what I'm doing. And I wouldn't do anything less than an hour on the turbo. It might be interval training with lots of short zone 4 efforts, or it might be a steady-ish 1.5 hours of zone 2/3 work. Either way I reckon an 1.5 hours of the equivalent road riding doesn't often feel as brutal, assuming an absence of strong winds and 10% inclines etc.

Go easy on me ... So having gotten back on the bike last year, I've now gone through the stats. This is 50% off road and 50% commuting at a best guess.

Some caveats, although my total KM's are accurate, the total elevation and number of rides are calcualted as I only started to use GPS in the summer after 1600kms clocked on a Catseye.

I haven't calculated hours as this just get even more inaccurate.

Distance - 3594km/2233miles
Elevatioon - 19493m/63955ft (I live in Singapore, not renowned for it's lumpiness)
Ave elveation per km - 5.42m/18ft
Rides - 241

Some other data which is interesting, probably only to me for goal seting for this year. As I only started riding again in February and my job means travel back to Europe regularly and around the region, this usually means no cycling in those weeks, so when I see guys riding every week, that's just not going to happen for me frown

Weeks ridden in - 37
Ave distance 37wks - 97km/60m
Ave distance 52wks - 69km/43

Goals for '15 are therefore based on how many weeks i can expect to ride. The advantage I have is that weather here supports daily commuting through the winter. We average 31 degrees through the year, however that also causes other issues!

So when did ride, I was averaging 100km's a week. My standard commute is now 25kms daily and I typically get that done for 4days a week, then another ride at the weekend.

So whilst I'm not knocking on the door of MadDad or others here, I don't think its too bad for a first year back on 2 different mountain bikes .... Road bike to be procured shortly to support the ambition of 6,500km I've set for this year.
