Nice one, gonna buy in bulk for commuting, the shorts have lasted well, never wear em for longer rides but they do well day in day out

Will buy the pumps as spares

The gloves they ran before have been great, better that my £20 pairs

I wouldn't trust the tyre repair spray, patches or a new tube every time

Actually wearing last years aldi fingerless gloves today and have the softshell jacket in my bag for the morning.

Some of their stuff was rubbish, others brilliant.

The gloves were fantastic, the backpacks brilliant, the winter jerseys great. The saddlebag with toolkit was nicked when I had a bike stolen, it was cheap but did the job. I still use the multitool....

What stuff have you found to be rubbish, not hearing good things about shorts, but fancy gloves, socks, maybe a shirt, already got the seat bag from a previous deal.

Track pumps were frankly crap. Waterproofs ditto. The cycle computer died after a month. Not impressed with the shoes.
Otherwise excellent

I've had the jacket and the saddle bag from there. Both excellent, and will be buying both again.

Panniers were a joke last time. Mine broke on first ride, dropping my laptop on the road.

Shoes are Ok but be bloody vigilent on the cleat mountings. Since the soles are fairly naff rubber, the cleat eats in then the bolts can work loose. An SPD with 1 bolt will not only leave you on your arse at a junction, but then to get up you have to take your shoe off. Don't ask me how i know.

Gloves were great, mine have lasted over a year and i plan to get another set. Softshell ok too, arm warmers not bad. Lg warmers bit useless, as they didn't have stay up strips.

Personal experience:

Track pump - poor materials used, weak, failed quickly

Arm/Leg warmers - poor fit, slipped down a lot, got very annoying. Gave up on them after just 1 (long) ride

Gloves (fingerless/mitts) - disposable item at the price, yet last pretty well and fairly comfortable

Gloves (full finger/winter) - avoid like the plague if you are a roadie. Seams in all the wrong places, very uncomfortable

Lightweight rain jacket - great as a windproof layer, and as extra reflective/hi vis at night, not very waterproof but fits in a jersey pocket

Jersey - no experience, have stuck to Karrimor (Sports Direct) and Foska, as well as a PH shirt in the past

Shorts - OK. Nothing to get excited about, but did the job. Material a bit thin, so not for the bashful wink

Socks - not bad, but then I've yet to experience 'bad' socks, even when they've been free, and stuck to the cover of Cycling Plus magazine

Glasses - brilliant at the price. I've had one pair snap at the frame where you bend it to change the lenses, but they were at least 2 years old. disappointing, but not catastrophic (like broken Oakleys might be)

Whatever you decide you need, get in there quick. The 'boot sale' vultures will be in there as soon as the store opens, loudly pretending that they are buying for their grandchildren/children/whatever when they just cart a pile of everything they can find in size 'Medium' off to the checkout. Pensioners with a hoarding instinct are the worst culprits. It's definitely a case of "when it's gone, it's gone".

Does anyone have an opinion on the cycling backpack? Does it have mesh/vented padding on straps or back?

Winter jersey: Brilliant, great pockets, great fit, but very small and snug (good for me)

Shorts: I have various pairs over the years, brilliant for commuteing @ £8 a time, but I wouldn't wear them for longer or "proper" rides, great under baggies on the MTB. For the price they are great, but its a cheap price ...

Winter Soft Shell: Great, did a sterling job over the winter and lasted brilliantly for £20, as it was a mild winter I found it never really got cold enough as I got too warm in it over 5 degrees

They did arm and leg warmers which were the same thing!! My legs are twice the size of my arms!! But the leg/arm warmers were excellent as leg warmers through the winter .

The WInter tights werent that good, I would only wear them in -0 temperatures, the pad was very thick, it was like wearing a nappy and my legs got too hot

Not sure I would trust the pumps/shoes/tools, but I have no experience of them

Have used their shorts for about 4 years now and they are excellent - good quality padding though the stitching aorund the waist seems prone to breaking. Been waiting years to get my hands on some more - hopefully this Sunday!

Winter jacket excellent quality - wish I'd bought more.

Computers seem to be OK and covered by a warranty for no-quibble replacement if they fail.

Not tried the longs or armwarmers as they don't fit me...

The panniers are pretty good: the "messenger" ones are at least.

Strange you didn't rate the winter gloves. Half my club was using them and very happy with them.

The winter jerseys were almost a defacto winter club kit :-)
