Fizik tape is pretty good. Its pricey at £15 a pack. I run Fizik Classic Sport tape on both my CX and my road bike.

Rather than start a new thread, I'm looking for something with cushioning, but that doesnt look st after 2 or 3 rides. Yes I'm looking for white. To replace the standard stuff on my Super6 which is looking well past its best!

Ebay for cork tape from China. Costs about £2 so you can buy loads of rolls and just replace it more often. TBH I've found it as good as any other cork tape. Good practice for your wrapping skills too!

I like my fizik super light brushed finish. I wear well padded gloves, though wink
I have the Fizik Superlight classic. It's the only stuff I've used so I have no basis for comparison (picked it almost at random for my budget first roadbike build), but it does strike me as rather thin and uncompromising. I think I'll look for something with more padding next time.

Cinelli cork gel tape is very comfy and seems pretty hard wearing.

I had two wraps of that tape and I thought it was utter junk.

Right I like the look of the Fizik Microtex or this: http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Merida-Dots-Bar-Tape_71329...

However, it does appear that this leather look stuff is fairly thin and will be a bit firm when applied.

When people suggest double wrap, does it just mean wrapping one tape over your old stuff or a cheap new one?

Just put some Cinelli cork tape on my bike and liking it so far, just need to see how long it lasts, but as I've gone for black hopefully it should be OK.

I've used Deda tape in the past which I also quite like, but it's not as 'cushiony' as the Cinelli stuff.

I found my "perfect" bar tape.

Fizik 3m sticky - it feels tacky and grippy, its nicely cushioned (double wrapped in the drops and the hoods with a thin layer of cheap cork - next time I'll use the Fizik gel pads).

Looks like new 2k miles later

I've got Arundel Gecko on the Tarmac which is nice, reasonably padded and has a bit of tack to it, bit like the Lizard Skins one.

Got Cinelli Caleido on the Colnago which is leather look and a lot thinner, was more bought for the detail visible through the holes!
