(Its in your junk mail undoubtedly)
Just been reading the magazine with instructions for "on the day" I can see where the fee went! Magnificent complexity for what is essentially a Sunday ride, much more involved than your average sportive, any one who did this before- how secure are these kit bags you can have transported to the end for you?

They are just cheap drawstring bags, kind of like what you used to put your pe kit/plimmies in for school. I didn't bother with it last year; I crashed out in Green Park for an hour or so and then rode back to the car park. This year we're hanging around longer so am taking some crappy old trainers and maybe a change of clothes, nothing of any value. The system seemed quite slick.(Its in your junk mail undoubtedly)

I'm in this year
•Start Area: Orange
•Wave:E
•Wave Load opening time: 05:27 (puke!)
•Wave Load closing time:05:57
•Start Time:06:27
Luckily I only live in SE London, so not the most arduous of places to get to the start from.
Re: joining in without and entry from earlier posts (and I don't want to get into a big hoo-hah about whether it is right or wrong - you can decide for yourselves), yes, it is possible - it's 100 miles of public roads, so not all of it can be barriered/marshalled. I know from last year for instance that Tower Hill is un-fenced, as is 95% of the rest of the route.

Soooooooooo how many people do we think will take a look at the weather forecast on Saturday night and think "fk it" and switch off the alarm clock....
Is it just me and Steve doing the Welsh Raider in Ludlow?
Crap, hadn't noticed the weather! I don't mind rain (cornering speed aside) it's the wind I hate!Is it just me and Steve doing the Welsh Raider in Ludlow?

Yeah - a bit of refreshing rain is fine but wind is a killer.
Likewise. The upside is, if there is wind it'll be southwesterly. So: into your face for the first half, but you'll be fresh. And then a tailwind home. Far better than a tailwind out and then headwind back when you're tired already.
Feeling quite nervous though... Feels like a long way. I'm sure it'll be fine, and better to try and fail than hide at home.

Sooooo the weather in Wales is as bad. Hit the town in Ludlow on Saturday night, long lie in and a roast dinner before returning home to tell our wives what a tough day it was ;-)Is it just me and Steve doing the Welsh Raider in Ludlow?

I'm looking forward to it now, just not looking forward to having to be in Stratford for 5am.
Being born and bred in the area all I can say is that 5am is the BEST time, by a country mile, to be in Stratford. It is a retched hive of scum and villainy, rolling through it at dawn is by far the safest and best time to experience its "charms" (as most of them will be asleep or in drug induced coma's)Given the doom and gloom forecast and the ability of riders to postpone till 2015 available until Saturday night what will they do if everyone defers? :-)
I was slightly worried about being ready but frankly the 100miles seems insignificant now in the light or standing around and riding followed by more standing around for upwards of 8hrs in torrential rain and 40mph wind!

My interweb is telling me that it's going to be largely calm and dry!
