A leisurely thirty eight minutes into work and forty four home in fog. Grrrrr!
Two issues. My sore neck is a lot worse. I'm not saying I miss having suspension but bumps and pot holes I noticed on my old bike have given me whiplash on the new one; and the fog lifted enough for the cows to stare at me as I went past again. I'm pretty sure they're planning something again.

So much for Dr's orders. My clutch slave cylinder decided it didn't need fluid on the way into work. Drove the last two miles in second gear and called home to get Dad to bring my bike out. I enjoyed an easy Sunday ride home apart from all the road kill. It's the time of the year where commuters are driving in late twilight dawn or dusk, so you have dozy drivers at greater volume and animals who aren't expecting them. Add to that the grain dumped on the roads by overfilled harvest trailers and it's a massacre waiting to happen.
Friday
I broke into the 34 minute barrier. 34.41
11.5 miles / 34.6666 seconds x 60 = 19.9mph average speed.
Okay I cheated a bit. I drafted a bus for a few miles of thirty zone, but it's still only twenty seconds off my old record that was with a gale force tailwind.
The charger broke on my old Cree light so I ordered a new one...
...and got a free light with it so from now on...
...SMIDSY is called CD10

34.49 into work wearing sunglasses.
Very, very long twelve hour shift.
36.09 minutes home with all my lights on and I've blown my left knee.
I had to hurry due to a family crisis and didn't get to bed until ten, up at two and driving in tonight. Sorry chaps.
The sign worked pretty well. Only a few close over takers to bother about.

Literally back in the saddle today as the Tax is due on my Punto (that didn't sell on eBay this week), my X1/9 has a knackered clutch slave cylinder (that happened half an hour after I spent this months parts budget on body panels) and my Panda is still mothballed waiting for the scheduled M.O.T later this month.
Once passed and taxed my Panda will be my driving to work when it's foggy car as it should Indian Summer or not be cool enough to cycle regularly soon, my Punto will be SORN or sold and my X1/9 hasn't got (predates) fog lights.
So my camera will be bar mounted today as the extra weight on my helmet will make pothole whiplash worse.
If this is my last post I regret loads but wouldn't change a thing.

37.07 as the plan was to take it easy, but then I got bored.

Forty six minutes home so an hour and twenty three to do twenty three miles?
That wouldn't be half bad if there weren't a twelve hour recovery time between.

Well that didn't go according to plan.
All ready to set off, one last look at the time on my phone before putting it in my bag, "18:44" perfect.
Get downstairs and the clock in the kitchen says "18:55".
My phone had lost ten minutes because it had reset itself somehow. Grrrr!
Borrowed my sisters car as it was in the way and got to work on time-ish.

So that went as well as expected.
Headwind but cool this morning, pitch black and I'd forgotten just how doltish drivers are that time of day. I don't think it's inconsiderate it's more likely ineptitude.
Head, side, three quarter and tail wind home with combination of spray, drizzle and driving rain for the last bit.
The two slowest times on the new bike but the best I've felt in ages.
Bring on tomorrow.

I like these kind of threads it looks like no-one is reading but you can guarantee there are!
I've got back into cycling in the last 3 months, lost 5kg so far and cruising along on a 1990s full suspension knobbly tyred specialized. Can't believe it cost me almost a grand in the 90s, feels more like an rsj the weight of the thing! all good training I suppose until I get a new lighter bike in the new year.
Strava really helping with the motivation.

If you'd like to transform your bike into a pedal powered supermoto try these...I've got back into cycling in the last 3 months, lost 5kg so far and cruising along on a 1990s full suspension knobbly tyred specialized. ...I was getting my knee down on a roundabout with my Specialized on a pair of their coloured slicks.
Just reviewed the ride home.
1/ I can confirm the camera is monsoon proof. It was raining heavier than I thought.
2/ It's bloody useless in the dark.
3/ I did a forty one minute ride home.
That's normal weather comfy rid territory.
Comfy ride? Time for a chaffing update. Yep not as much as before but that's probably due to the bike not moving about beneath me. I am getting hair follicle issues around the belly button so I need to move my seat up a little bit.

I almost did this last month but I quite like the feeling of over taking the odd 'proper' cyclist on a totally unsuitable bike for the road. Plus the fitness will be reduced if I make it easier!http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SLICK-BLACK-WHITE-WALL-M...

I think this bike will be kept for kids duties and towpath cycling when/ if the new bike comes. Trying not to spend any money on it, but I felt a rumbling yesterday so maybe bb is on its way out. Its either that or a pedal
