Upgrading the MTB, but want British built bike...
Discussion
I would say Genesis, however since I picked up a Core 40 a couple of years back, it seems that they have streamlined their range a bit. Still worth a look but may not be what you're after. I can vouch for an excellent bit of kit though and because its British, you kind of feel that they knew what the bike was going to be used for when they designed it.

Fell off loads of times (mainly on the constant rainy day) and not once has the bike ever broken or shown signs of wearing out.

Pace cycles, made in the North York Moors. Never ridden one but they look excellent in the shop at Dalby Forest!
Designed in Dalby Forest would be more accurate, got an RC129 which is a lovely to look at and ride, but unfortunately made overseas Dammit what kind of money is 853 with paragon works slider dropouts?
Slider or Rocker? We'd generally go with these:
Which are great, as they precisely maintain the relationship between the disc and the caliper no matter how you move the wheel about to set chain tension, but expensive.
We use a lot of Paragon Machine Works stuff as it works as advertised, and is extremely well made. I just wish they'd charge us less for it!
