Yeah - and where I work thats 30% of the original retail price of the bike!!!
Crazy!
You don't pay 30% though, ours is 22% iirc (I think this is set by the goverment) so the residual value of a £1000 the bike is considered to be £220, as they're giving you the bike it's considered a benefit in kind to the value of £220 so this is removed from your tax code meaning you pay 22% or whatever it is tax on £220 that you would have got tax free so £48 in extra tax or 4.8%.Crazy!
At 30% you'd pay £66 extra in tax on a £1000 bike over the next 12 months there are loads of people saying it's not worthwhile but for me the company pays the first £100 of the £1000 leaving me with £900 which I'd have only seen <£600 of anyway then I pay another £48 over the next 12months meaning a £1000 bike I'd have bought anyway has cost me £648 it'd probably sell for that after 18months use anyway.
Re C2W, you're recommended to continue leasing the bike (for a one-off fee of £70ish), for another three years. During that time the agreement is between you and C2W, and they don't give a st once you've paid said £70. What happens between you and your employer doesn't matter, and C2W themselves admit that they won't contact you again re. the bike. It may be "leased" (or hired, either way) but it's as good as yours.

It might just be the photo, or me, but that seat looks very high?! Otherwise, very jealous...
Unless you have ridiculously long legs and very short arms, that bike is not the right size.Jimbo. said:

unless the bike is £1500+ you'd be better to have the 22% final value added to your tax codesnowdude2910 said:
