5'11, 31", M/L in Giant (L is a tad too big), think I'd go for the smaller size here.

Argos only seem to stock the 55cm and 58cm frames. The manufacturer's (LiYang's) site shows 4 frame sizes, 49cm, 52cm, 55cm and 58cm. I'd hazard a guess and say that the 52cm would be about right for me, possibly even the 49cm, so I'm not heading off to Argos just yet.

Also on Homebase website, no mention of frame size!

More question, and some answers too, here... http://www.bikeradar.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=40... ...some of the answers are from actual owners, too!

Local store stock is misleading, so there might not be that many around. It appears that all local branches have stock, then when you click through to reserve it says 'in store within 5 days'.

Friend of mine has one, he rates it. Not a bad bike and at that price there's nothing to touch it.

When he had a problem with it, Argos treated it like a toaster - he just swapped it for a new one.

Sod it. Couldn't resist, got one reserved at branch so a few days to back out if I need to.

Assuming I go through with this and can bring myself to go the house of the laminated book of dreams and sit there clutching my ticket, I'll strip it, check it and rebuild it first.

I've got a set of Racing 5s to swap and a spare 105 compact crankset & BB to chuck on too. I'll watch out for a cheap Fizik Aliante and that'll do me til I kill the Sora.

That does look like a bargain, I think I've got those wheels on my CX and they roll just fine. Shimano blade spokes are pricey though if they break.

I wonder if it could stand some cx tyres and do some trails as well as a winter all rounder?

Homebase do them online for £399.99 and have a number of discount codes floating around for 20% off when you spend £250. If they apply, we are talking £320.00!

I went through a load of codes this morning, couldn't get any to work. Let us know if you do!

Likewise, at £320 I'll have one to leave at my Mum's place for when I'm back in England.

The crankset is an ICE Alloy compact, 175mm arm length on the bigger size. It looks like a square taper bottom bracket.

ICE cranksets are apparently rebranded FSA cranks - probably a Tempo, Vero or a Gossamer.

It would be an easy sell on eBay, loads of people are looking for square taper compacts for classic road bikes that came with standard (53/39) cranks. Of course, the ICE cranksetit would be perfectly servicable on the ventura, but you could make a strong argument that an external bottom bracket would look less out of place on a new carbon frame.

There is a video walk round on youtube, warning, the music is dreadful:

I've just tried a load of codes on Homebase - they're product type specific by the looks of it.

Fair enough, worth a try.
Just need to find someone who works for Sainsburys with staff discount then!
